'It looks like it may be a terrible tragedy': Obama goes AWOL again with just 40-second mention of Malaysian plane crash feared to have killed Americans before his jokey 16-minute transport speech
Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 crashed in eastern Ukraine on Thursday, killing all 295 passengers on board President Obama said his national security team is working on identifying the U.S. citizens and then launched into jokes and 16 minutes of prepared remarks Twitter erupted with digital eye-rolls at Obama's curt mention of the 'tragedy' that the Ukrainian government quickly called a 'criminal case' House Speaker John Boehner offered a solemn statement, saying 'many innocents were killed today. It is horrifying.' By DAVID MARTOSKO

President Barack Obama provoked fury in the U.S. on Thursday by casually devoting less than a minute to the deaths of 295 people aboard a Malaysian airliner, as he began an often jokey 16-minute speech about the need to expand Americas transportation infrastructure.
There are no confirmed American dead, an earlier Reuters report claimed that it was feared that as many as 23 U.S. citizens had perished. Obama declared in Wilmington, Delaware that 'it looks like it may be a terrible tragedy,' but not before enthusiastically declaring that 'it is wonderful to be back in Delaware.'

Of course the bad part of this is that he spent 16 minutes talking about anything. I do a pretty good job of avoiding hearing him speak. He makes that harder by talking to the press for 16 minutes.
Just changes certain names and places and other details and you have today’s address that should have been made by the POTUS!
;)
Obama knew before he stepped before the cameras that no Americans were killed. He felt that, politically, he couldn’t lose at that point. What a prick.
He might as well have said, “Ahhh, that’s too bad.” Now that would be funny if he were in a Seinfeld skit, but the problem for us is, the guy in the Oval Office is a psychopath.
I think the reason nobody else has brought that up is because of it's rank absurdity.
If a drone-collision were the cause of Malaysian Flight MH7's loss and not a Russian-made SAM, there'd be hunks of Predator/Reaper drone debris scattered in with the plane wreckage and elsewhere. Some Russian mud farmer would have found a hunk of drone tail that reads 'USAF' painted on the side crashed into one of his coal piles. What a sensational find that would be, wouldn't it?
Pictures of said drone fuselage debris found intermingled with the Malaysian jet would be all anyone on the planet would be talking about -- most notably, Vladamir Putin.
it “looks like a terrible tragedy?” No you idiot it is a TERRORIST ATTACK..but hey in Obama’s America, its OK as long as there were Muslims on board, then he would be crying on TV..Obama watched Four Americans die during the Benghazi attack and probably was doing cartwheels..so seeing him react like this doesn’t surprise me one bit
He speaks his mind, so if it was another military plane, that would have been OK. This may be, it looks like it is a terrible tragedy... He will not hold Russia accountable, it's an accident. They didn't mean it...
That's what I think he meant...
"Freedom consists not in doing what we like, but in having the right to do what we ought."
-St. John Paul II
Don’t bother me with these terrible things that require me to do something other than fiddle as Rome burns!
Nobody has displayed missile parts with nomenclature on them either, yet such a missile should have attracted more initial attention than the aircraft. The trails of both would have lingered concurrently.
Which do you think is more likely?: A Russian-made SAM or a Western-made UAV that caused this atrocity? Equal odds, perhaps?
This tragedy does nothing to further Obama brand liberalism so he doesn’t care.
“Terrible Tragedy” = Obama Presidency
“It looks like it may be a terrible tragedy.”
That is what I said on Jan. 20, 2009
This is like the often parried statement by a reporter after seeing the Space Shuttle Challenge explode.
“Obviously a major malfunction.”
I realize that Zero feels Congress can do nothing about his behavior, but, Zero is, after all, Commander in Chief, and as such, is he not held subject to the military code for dereliction of duty? as well as the subject to the code of ethics? or is he just ceremonial fluff? (and have we as a country ever had to ask this question before?)
Why should the teenage president give a rats ass?
I never did understand why people gushed over how great a speaker he is, how very smart, blah blah. I couldn’t see what they were talking about. Anyways, previous presidents at least ACTED like they cared when a tragedy such as this happened. It is diplomacy. It’s showing your humanity in a time of crisis/tragedy and speaking, as an elected leader of a people, on behalf of those people. O is not up to the job and he’s so lacking he doesn’t even care that others know it apparently.
