The security cabinet met late on Tuesday night to determine the next steps in Operation Protective Edge, at the end of a topsy-turvy day that started with the prospect of a cease-fire and ended with dozens of Hamas rockets hitting Israel and intense retaliatory attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Before convening the security cabinet, which some 12 hours earlier had approved a cease-fire brokered by Egypt that Hamas never accepted, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Israel would answer Hamas’s rejection of a truce with stepped-up attacks.
“If there is no cease-fire, our answer is fire,” Netanyahu said, adding that Hamas chose to continue the battle and “will pay the price for that decision.”
Earlier in the day, the prime minister recommended to the security cabinet that it accept a relatively vague Egyptian proposal that called for a 48-hour cease-fire, to be followed in Cairo by the Egyptian government acting as the middleman in negotiations between Israel and Hamas to secure a longer-term agreement.
Israel accepted the proposal for a cease-fire to begin at 9 a.m., but Hamas did not and continued raining rockets down on Israeli cities and towns. Six hours later, at 3 in the afternoon, Israel resumed military action.

Sorry to disappoint you in your dreams of Israel committing war crimes. Israel simply doesn’t do that, when it is going after Hamas and other Islamic Terrorist operatives. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave specific orders to the IDF to avoid any Palestinian civilian collateral damage, and they are doing this - while going after Hamas and their operatives to the maximum extent possible. Israel knows how to distinguish between the two.
Civilization has a clear and identifiable enemy: the entire mooselimb world. Destroying the enemy is not a war crime. It’s justice.
The enemy is clearly identified in Israel and by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as Hamas and their Islamic Terrorist operatives. He definitely does not define the enemy as the Palestinian civilians. He’s given orders for the IDF to avoid collateral damage to these Palestinian civilians.

I never doibted Shimon Peres’s love for Israel but since the 1950s he has been one of the worst things to happen to that country. I don’t doibt for a minute that Daniel Gordos loves Israel but when he weites an editorial imposing collective guilt on Israel for the murder by three individuals of one 16-year-old Arab boy — despite universal condemnation of that act — then he is misperceiving the situation.

The war may involve the destruction of the city of Damascus (in a single day) as prophesied in Isaiah 17.
The US will descend into chaos as its economy is destroyed, its borders wiped out, and the heavy hand of Martial Law imposed in false promise to "restore order."
The rest of the world will start organizing into "states" or "kingdoms." They will look to a strongman, a man with a plan, who will lead the world out of the mess it is in. Israel, who is now prosperous, rebuilding their Temple, and behind safe borders (finally) will be the subject of their hatred, jealousy, and anger.
