Speaking to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Albuquerque in 2001, George W. Bush declared that, as Mexico was a friend and neighbor, Its so important for us to tear down our barriers and walls that might separate Mexico from the United States.
Bush succeeded. And during his tenure, millions from Mexico exploited his magnanimity to violate our laws, trample upon our sovereignty, walk into our country and remain here.
In 2007, supported by John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Teddy Kennedy and Barack Obama, Bush backed amnesty for the 12 million people who had entered America illegally.
The nation thundered no. And Congress sustained the nation.
The latest mass border crossing by scores of thousands of tots, teenagers and toughs from Central America has killed amnesty in 2014, and probably for the duration of the Obama presidency.
Will protests of illegals by U.S. cities make a difference? Sound off in the WND Poll.
Indeed, with the massive media coverage of the crisis on the border, immigration, legal and illegal, and what it portends for our future, could become the decisive issue of 2014 and 2016.
But it needs to be put in a larger context. For this issue is about more than whether the Chamber of Commerce gets amnesty for its members who have been exploiting cheap illegal labor.
The real issue: Will America remain one nation, or are we are on the road to Balkanization and the breakup of America into ethnic enclaves? For, as Ronald Reagan said, a nation that cannot control its borders isnt really a nation anymore.

The US no longer seems like a country to me. More like a raggedy, urban bus-station, with people wandering in and out aimlessly. Some asleep on the benches, with pickpockets stealing them blind. Foreign voices and cultures emanating from every corner. Crazy guy attacking the food vending machine. Drugged-out zombies sitting on the floor and staring into space. A tv-set tuned to CNN doing a story on the glories of homosex, only to be interrupted by live coverage of Obama giving one of his banana-republic style speeches about ‘income inequality.’
America, 2014. A journey into hell.
Dubya lost me the day in 2006 (I believe) when he walked down a hallway outside the Rose Garden, smirking and saying, “See you at the signin’!” (referencing amnesty).
Conservatives and regular Americans stopped it. And yeah, it isn’t all Zero.
We have two parties to `thank’ for this invasion debacle. Buchanan is just reminding us that the GOP establishment is as—if not more—responsible than the dhimmies for this mess.
Fair enough. How many miles of fence did George W. build? There’s a certain amount of amnesia on this thread.
Your description is sadly very accurate.
I get the impression your looking at a biblical last days timeline...
Just FYI ..looked for a world tax system and tax id..I just got a hunches it is the mark of the beast 666... (no one can buy or sell with out the mark, calls for “wisdom” to understand)..King Solman(Wisdom)..his tax on the nation was 666 talents of gold..
Well, I guess it is fair to say...
It's Bush's fault.
It is going to take a complete barrier from the GOM to the Pacific. With very limited
crossing points where if one doesn't have the proper papers then turn them around.
This foolishness of keeping them here for deportation processing has got to be
changed and expedited.
I don’t have the dates straight in my head, anymore . . . but I recall that Congress funded construction and then stopped funding the construction. And I don’t want to get in the weeds, no one else appears to care anyway. They just have an axe to grind.
Many are pushing for a North American nation. NAFTA was just the beginning. Borders are fading.
Good points. W and Vicente Fox were best buddies. GHW Bush mentioned “A New world order” numerous times.
etc., etc., etc.
The RNC just called asking for money. It was fun.
How many miles of fence did George W. build?
Not enough.
And yeah, it isnt all Zero.
That’s true. They just put things in such a state that he’s able to take full advantage of it.
It never has been... well maybe right after the revolution. But by the time the country was coast to coast forget about it. There is no American monoculture, it’s a myth.
Now we’re getting somewhere!
Oh, and that worthless woman W wanted to appoint to the Supreme Court.
I will say that W kept us safe and cares for our troops and vets.
I know. Not surprising, though.
Jesus Christ: You cant impeach Him and He aint going to resign.
Its become as Al Gore once said with his famous gaffe “from one, many”
He said this as he was attempting to restate the meaning of e pluribus unum, but he got that as wrong as he got global warming wrong.
Its the wet dream of every liberal, most of whom are not patriotically proud of our country, most of whom are devout baby killers, most of whom are steadfast opposed to State Rights, most of whom are fully opposed to the 2nd Amendment and the entire Constitution overall.
You seeing the trend here?
