Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday evening that despite Israel's decision to accept the Egyptian cease-fire proposal, Hamas rejected it and continued fire. Hamas will pay the price for its actions."Anyone who tries to harm Israel, will be harmed," he said. "We would have prepared to solve this diplomatically, but Hamas has left us no choice."
Israel's security cabinet will meet at 9 P.M. on Tuesday, 12 hours after accepting an Egyptian cease-fire proposal. Several Hamas officials rejected the proposal, but sources said that Hamas was holding talks with Egypt on the matter and an official statement by the Hamas political leadership is expected later Tuesday.
Hamas fire intensified over the course of the day, with rockets lobbied at south, central and north Israel. A civilian was critically wounded in the evening from shrapnel near the Erez Crossing, on the Gaza border.

It seems that Israel is the only sensible and sane country on the planet right now.
Is Obama out golfing or playing snooker?
Lazy sand nazis! What about east and west Israel? they're not gonna bomb themselves!
Thursday evening?
Why couldn’t we have Bibi as OUR president...instead we get OBAMBI.
He's looking for industrial strength double sided sticky tape to hide Michaels package.
I don’t know exactly when ... but the call-up for the reservists in Israel was 48,000 ... and you don’t want to leave them sitting around too long ... :-) ...
Seems that HAMAS wants to test the full capability of Iron Dome and its current supply limits with regard to the future. Israel has to stop the command and control of GAZAN missile launches and has to use troops for that purpose to discover HAMAS capabilities for certain. Israel cannot afford to quit, or run out of Iron Dome inventory.

One goal of Hamas might also be to get Israeli soldiers inside Gaza so they can kidnap one of them. Out of 48,000 Israeli soldiers called up, it shouldn’t be too hard for Hamas to capture just one of those 48,000. And with that, they hope to gain another trade with Israel (as they did before) in getting 1000 Islamic Terrorists released for that one soldier.
Yes, it could be a trap. I would not send in the soldiers until Gaza is a smoking heap of rubble. The Hamas fanatics spurned any chance of ceasefire and so deserve hellfire. If Hamas cares nothing for their civilians, why should Israel?
Perhaps so.
The funny thing is that in the US, everyone seems to think Netanyahu is a hard line hawk. In Israel he is regarded as cautious and is being heavily criticized for his willingness to accept ceasefires without completely destroying Hamas. I do believe he just had to fire his Deputy Defense minister for not agreeing with Israel's agreement to sign on to the now failed cease-fire.
It was actually the previous PM, Ehud Olmert of the Kadima party, who engaged in 2 wars including operation Cast Lead which was the last time Israel actually invaded Gaza. So far Bibi has avoided putting boots on the ground there, and is regarded as someone who doesn't like to take big risks.
Israel accepted the cease-fire. Hamas refused.

Thanks Star Traveler.
The concern you mention probably is applicable to the several hundred “advisors” sent to Iraq to aid the Shiite military forces of Maliki. A captured US military advisor would make some headlines too with the complications that would ensue.
AL Sadr’s units in Baghdad suburbs would be/are focussed on capturing or worse in regard to US personnel.
Yeah, it would definitely be a bonanza for the terrorists.
