When President Obama arrives in Dallas Wednesday evening, his first order of business will be to huddle with local leaders to discuss a border crisis that a White House spokesman this week described as an emergent situation.
But one of the leaders invited to that meeting, Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R), says the administration has no excuse for being surprised. In a letter to Obama more than two years ago, Perry raised a red alarm about an influx of unaccompanied children crossing the southern border, citing federal statistics showing that the number of minors had shot up 90 percent.
By failing to take immediate action to return these minors to their countries of origin and prevent and discourage others from coming here, the federal government is perpetuating the problem, Perry wrote to Obama in May 2012. Inaction encourages other minors to place themselves in extremely dangerous situations. . . .Every day of delay risks more lives. Every child allowed to remain encourages hundreds more to attempt the journey.
Two years later, Perrys letter appears prescient. The number of unaccompanied children at the border, which was 5,200 in 2012, has shot up to more than 52,000 this year and it could reach 90,000 by the end of September, according to internal Border Patrol estimates.

Obama now wants 3.7 billion to “manage” this crisis. Too bad he didn’t spend the money allocated for building the fence that was mandated by law back in 2006. Had that fence been built, he most likely wouldn’t need these extra billions.
Take ACTION.
He is at a $32,000.00 per head dinner, where he or whomever it is he works for pockets the money no questions asked from his ostensible bosses, we- the people.
$3.7 billion are going to go where?
REally?
R-i-i-i-ght, idiot liberal journalist. Only the seriously skewed ideologue would overlook the obvious: we're being overrun by illegal aliens, been going on for years.
Perry now acts as if his past pandering to illegals never happened.
Perry advocated amnesty.
Perry approved in state tuition to illegal immigrants.
Perry has the means to secure his state’s border but does nothing.
All this machismo towards Obama is for low info voters who don’t know Perry and Obama are on the same wavelength on illegal immigration
Go Rick...... give him hell
What happens on the field trumps set ups by reporters in the locker room
Has anyone heard reports on how the meeting between zero and the Texas Governor Perry went today? If I were the governor I would have insisted on video of the meeting.
I noticed the mainstream media is continuously trying to magnify the “children” that are involved in the invasion, activating people’s natural compassion for the innocent and covering up other aspects, such as criminals, diseases, etc. This amounts to emotional blackmail against the American people.

They’ll get an earful (in this case, eye full) from me!
Obama did his usual power trip - he slapped Perry on the shoulder repeatedly. It is so ugly how he behaves with Republicans. If someone did what he does to others, it would cause a massive outrage across the country.
Of course Perry can take MUCH OF THE CREDIT for this invasion by minors by, essentially, declaring Texas as a “Sanctuary State” for illegals, especially minors, and calling people “heartless” if they disagreed with him on making the state a magnet for these people.
Texas, secede! Restore the Republic and protect your own borders. Tell Obama to pound sand.
Well my question is if Perry new two years ago as well, why in the hell hasn’t HE done something about it? He’s just as guilty of doing nothing as Obama.
And I’ll step out and say something else; I’m fed up with Cruz, Lee, and the rest of them not doing anything either. Facebook posts and twitter hashtags ain’t doing squirt piss! DO SOMETHING ALREADY TO STOP THIS LAWLESSNESS AND DESTRUCTION OF OUR COUNTRY!!!
Good addition. I forced myself to watch BO’s presentation yesterday and his arrogance is so disgusting, it was nearly impossible. Counting the days/weeks until he is out of office, but his “legacy” will, unfortunately, last for decades.
