Americans are still OK with guns, and until we can change that, Michael Bloomberg's millions won't mean a thing
*
The Michael Bloomberg-funded Everytown for Gun Safety announced on Monday a new gambit for creating pressure on candidates to move, finally, in the direction of stricter gun laws: the group will offer them a survey. Everytown one of several sane competitors playing the long game against the National Rifle Associations stranglehold on violence in America will make politicians put their positions on firearm restrictions, however convoluted, on the record. As the head of the organization, which has $50m in Bloomberg backing to the NRAs untold millions, pronounced: Now were going toe-to-toe with the gun lobby.
This has the feel of a good idea, because it is one one already employed, simply to opposite effect, by the NRA itself. Everytown isn't offering a counterweight to the NRA's rating system, it is duplicating it
just without the grades. What information could an anti-gun voter would find in the Everytown questionnaire that the NRA hasn't ferreted out itself? It will tell you who to vote for as surely as a National Right-to-Life rating will direct a voter concerned about preserving the right to choose.

“Americans are still OK with guns, and until we can change that, Michael Bloomberg’s millions won’t mean a thing “.
And, why would that NEED to be changed. Despite all the BS currently going on, America is still the only country of consequence that has this kind of freedom. We don’t need some assclown from the UK (is she?) trying to aid in creating the same kind of utopia currently seen in the UK. i.e. bugger off lady.
No, the problem is that there is a liberal trying to describe something without popping her denial bubble.
This is clinical insanity, folks. Nothing less.
Do you agree that we can do more to both keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people and protect the rights of responsible, law-abiding people?
Do you support requiring all gun buyers to pass a criminal background check?
Do you support a law that would prohibit convicted stalkers, people convicted of abusing a dating partner, and people subject to a domestic violence restraining order against a dating partner from having guns?
Do you support a law that would require a criminal background check for every gun sold between strangers who meet through an online gun classified website?
Do you support increased funding for the programs that help states submit records to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) to block severely mentally ill people from buying guns?
Do you support a law that would close the terror gap and block people listed on the federal governments terror watch lists from buying guns?
Do you support a federal gun trafficking law that would increase penalties on gun traffickers and make it easier to prosecute and convict them?
Do you support banning the sale of high capacity ammunition magazines, or magazines that hold more than 10 bullets at a time?
Do you support a law that would allow a prosecutor to bring charges if a gun owner stores a firearm negligently, a minor accesses the gun, and harm results?
Do you oppose national concealed carry reciprocity, which would overturn state laws that determine who may carry a concealed loaded gun in public, and force every state to recognize concealed carry permits from every other state?
I'm keepin' that one ;)
Blah, blah, BS, blah, blah. Hits nail on head. Blah, BS, BS, blah.
The whole article is in this one paragraph.
Fine don’t call them “illegal” call them “criminal foreign invaders”
Gracious! This creature "reasons" like some sort of third-world pantheistic heathen. It's an inanimate object, not some sort of evil totem or talisman.
Bad products kill many great marketing campaigns.
Gun control is a bad product and a bad idea.
No matter how much they spend to tell us otherwise.
Having accepted her serfdom, the author impugns liberty.
Human beings are violent, aggressive creatures, capable of unspeakable horrors. Her solution to this violence is the absurd raving of a confused mind.
If preventing free men from gun ownership is the solution to man’s violence, what happened to the Tutsis?
NO x 10.
But why would any same legislator even bother to fill out a questionnaire compiles by a fascist enemy of civil rights? I’d piss on it, then toss it in the dumpster.
IOW, the gun is the nexus of evil in a "situation." The humans are just along for the ride.
Americans know very shortly they're going to need them for their original purpose.
Total British casualties from battle and disease in the Revolutionary War: around 24,000
Seems like the limeys haven’t learned their lesson from the last time they tried to take our guns.
Pretty much a bunch of “No”s there, but I do like how many are couched in a manner of ‘When did you stop beating your wife?’
It’s failing because you gotta use both hands...
It’s not about guns, it’s about control.
