Perry Asks for 1,000 National Guard Troops Until 3,000 New Border Patrol Agents Are Trained; Texas Has Fewer Agents Than Any Other Border State.
Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry told members of the U.S. Homeland Security Committee Thursday afternoon that the illegal immigrants who've flooded the border since October must be sent back home.
Perry told committee members who toured a facility in McAllen and other centers in the state, where immigrants are being housed temporarily, that returning the children and adults who are entering the U.S. illegally will send a message to others to not embark on the dangerous and possibly deadly journey.
"Some may think that allowing them to stay here is the more humane option; I assure you it's not," Perry asserted. "Nobody is doing any of these children the slightest favor by delaying a rapid return to their countries of origin."
He continued: "Allowing them to remain here will only encourage the next group of individuals to undertake this very dangerous and life-threatening journey. And those who come must be sent back to demonstrate that risking your lives on the top of those trains is not worth it. Even those who've survived this treacherous journey are still at risk," said Perry, referring to one confirmed case of H1N1 and two other cases of Type A influenza that might also be H1N1.

Does anyone really think that this huge migration of central American children began spontaneously and our crack diplomats in Central America were ignorant of this happening? The Sate Department is either woefully incompetent or they, Border Security and Homeland Security were merely implementing Obama immigration policy.
Although Perry is not quite what I think America would accept for President, sadly.....he has very good responses for the media that can just shut up the press and those wanting their race to be able to break every law while the others must suffer with minor offenses. I think Rick would make a good President and his wife a quieter and loving First Lady. He doesn’t usually let the left get by with their word bombs and then run away with their tails wagging since they know avoiding reality gets them brownie points.

To send them back (deport them) is within the context of existing law that is being ignored by this Administration.
To send them back because the inundation of our support and medical infrastructure is an even greater imperative.
We are ill-equipped to deal with a pandemic caused by dispersing these diseased invaders throughout the country, uncontrolled. It just isn’t dirty diapers and lice. It is scabies (skin mites), flesh eating disease, drug resistant tuberculosis, measles, mumps, and rubella. So, so much more. Uncontrolled and unplanned (because the government is refusing to tell the citizens of the true danger - threat of arrest) this plague will destroy this country.
Perry is a NAFTA/NAU Open Borders lib, so I doubt he really wants them deported. He will give them in-state college tuition like he did the other illegal aliens in TX
All he has to do is declare a public health emergency and quarantine areas where the illegal kids are. Perry had no problem forcing STD vaccinations on TX girls....so he can do quarantine

I’ve read conflicting interpretations of the current law regarding the “children”. One website says they cannot be deported but must be turned over to child protective services; the others say the opposite. Which one is true?
Actually, in this case, I really don’t care what the law says, since everyone in the administration is breaking it; but since SOMEONE ABUSED THEIR AUTHORITY and took advantage of the American public, these “children” - all of them, no matter what age or physical condition - MUST be sent back to wherever they came from. As a taxpayer, I would much rather pay for their return to their country, and be done with it, rather than pay - year, after year, after year - for their housing, food and HEALTH CARE while they “wait” for their INS hearing, which btw, they will NEVER appear. And for the horde of children YET TO ARRIVE and take advantage of the same STUPIDITY that we, as a country, are exhibiting. So who’s next? The Iranians? The Somalis? Are we now the revolving door of the world?
agree - the word “immigrant” carries with it the understanding the foreign born person has permanently entered in legal status and has been issued a “green card.” They law requires they always carry that “green card” with them.
Otherwise, to be legal they must have a valid “visa.”
These so called “undocumented” persons have illegally entered the US and have broken the law.
