HOUSTON, Texas--On Thursday Texas Governor Rick Perry spoke at a House Homeland Security Committee field hearing near the Texas-Mexico border, where lawmakers discussed the thousands of illegal immigrants entering the country each day. Perry wasted no time stressing that the migrants--many of whom are minors--must be sent back to their home countries as soon as possible.
"Nobody is doing any of these children the slightest favor by delaying a rapid return to their countries of origin, which in many cases is not Mexico," the governor said. "Allowing them to remain here will only encourage the next group of individuals to undertake the same life-threatening journey. Those who have come must be sent back to demonstrate, in no uncertain terms, that risking their lives to cross Mexico and enter our country simply isnt worth it."
He mentioned that because Border Patrol agents are stuck taking care of the children in facilities, there are less agents actively patrolling the border. Because of this, Perry said "the border between the U.S. and Mexico is less secure today than anytime in the recent pass."
He continued, "Were also in danger at the hands of those who might be slipping through from countries with known terrorist ties. With a range of potential threats facing us from abroad, this is not the time to turn our attention elsewhere. ... Secure this border, Mr. President. Finally address this issue, put an adequate number of Border Patrol agents on the ground permanently."
In Perry's view, if action is not taken soon "the flow [of illegal immigrants] is not going to stop."

Call out the militia to defend the borders!!
Bump that.
We have resources that ain’t on the books.
Petition governor Perry to call out the militia! Sovereignty and liberty at stake!!
If Perry can successfully do something to return these kids it would make him an instant favorite for President.
Get a clue as to what's going on. Friggin' take action, for God's sake.
I hope that’s not a big “if”. He could call out the National Guard, for a start. Hire people to just start building the wall already. It would be cheaper than supporting all these invaders, and the ones who will follow.
It’s time for citizens/militias to take over.
The government and the politicians will do nothing. Any bus loaded with illegals comes within a hundred miles of me, I’m going to be present, and do everything humanly possible to physically stop it.
Operation Wetback was very effective in the 1950s. With today’s far superior technology, a revival of that program would send the criminal invaders back across the Rio Grande. And yes, that includes wily little Pablo. It just takes the will to stop the criminals.
BTTT!
Operation H20 Lumbar?
What resources are available to him?
Specifically.. what resources? Under which conditions?
Don't know? Never been Governor of Texas?
Then maybe you should get back on the porch and leave things to the dogs that know how to pee standing up.
cut off the benefits, including the ones Perry signed into law... and do it as “heartlessly” as possible.
Do something, Rick. If you stop what’s happening at the border, the presidency will be yours. Guaranteed.
What would happen if the citizen militia turned out to repel the invaders, a job our government refuses to do?
I agree. Perry is a governor, he has a national guard at his disposal. He needs to protect his state. Doing nothing but yapping is not a solution a real leader would allow.
Back in the day, they were referred to as “wet Mexicans.” Nobody meant any offense to it, it was just a fact.
Also, the TX Governor office is weak and has few powers.
Wetbacks.
What’s the matter with Breitbart, using that title to mislead about what Perry has said?
“What would happen if the citizen militia turned out to repel the invaders, a job our government refuses to do?”
Excellent question. Farmers and ranchers have protected their land for eons, what if they got some help from other Texans?
