On Wednesdays The OReilly Factor, conservative talker Laura Ingraham made a bold call on how to confront problem of immigration in the United States, in particular regarding the flow of illegal aliens through the U.S. southern border.

HOORAY Laura!
Our politicians have taken their cues from the English: mass, uncontrolled immigration will neuter the native vote, destroy the native culture, destroy middle class wages, and mint millions of new voters who have no allegiance to, or understanding of, this country, nor its founding principles, thus cementing in place socialist, welfare state, multiculturalist, antichristian policies.
Our politicians are the enemy. They are purposely destroying this country and culture.

Well, yeah - but what are we doing about it? Absolutely nothing, for the most part, other than the bus protestors we’re seeing.
We’ll all be out sitting on our duff’s tomorrow night, after a long day of beer drinking and picnicking ...we’ll watch fireworks, swim and vacation all weekend, then it’s back to work on Monday. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Americans as a whole continue to scratch our collective butts and do absolutely NOTHING about this. Can we really continue to blame it on the politicians? The politicians are US!!!
With all due respect, c’mon you guys, get real. The US would NEVER dare to apply these tactics.
We’ve become a nation that is afraid of its own shadow, we grovel to Islam and we cringe of what the world would think of us and we coddle the UN.
We’re not America any longer — we are a cocktail of a few ounces of every nation in the world and we are afraid to offend any one of them.
We have lost our identity.
Whatever you think its intent was, the language is unambiguous. It says what it says. It also only formalizes the principle that always existed.
Your exactly correct. The voters have been dumbed down to an unbelievable level.
Our definition of “citizen” is all wrong; citizenship should be earned, not obtained by birth.
Universal suffrage has been an absolute disaster for the country (but a boon for lying, deceitful, greedy politicians and their gibsmedat supporters).
This subject matter was talked about in a genteel fashion in the erudite articles in the back pages of Buckley’s National Review eons ago. Republican’s couldn’t go their, and you can insert a host of reason, but now maybe now it’s too late....
The kicker is if we make them all citizens tomorrow morning the advantages of hiring them will melt away and those businesses will want more cheap labor to replace them. Rinse and repeat. Businesses that hire illegals see nothing wrong with the taxpayer making up the difference between what they pay illegals and what it costs for them to be here.
THIS JUST IN-—Boobamba is going to Texas but announces he WILL NOT visit the refugee camps.
Probably scared stiff he’ll catch a contagious disease, maybe bring lice and scabies home to the WH fam.
But he could care less if disease and contagion are spread to American communities and infects Americans.
We have to face the fact that this ding-a-ling in the WH is deranged........
No president in their right mind would allow Third World foreign countries to violate US sovereignity.
A concerned president would not allow US laws to be blatantly being broken, allowing unwashed hordes into our facilities, and knowingly let into the US contagion, vermin and disease.......all of it to be financed, fed, clothed and housed by US taxpayers.
There must be provisions in the law and constitution to protect Americans from such an individual.
Cease all aid to all of these countries.
Stop all money transfers out of this country. Western Union needs to be stopped from helping them send this money.
The language & intent of the 14th Amendment is being twisted.
Amendment XIV is poorly drafted, but there’s no doubt that there is a legitimate literal reading that allows birthright citizenship.
I think fixing this requires a constitutional amendment.
WOw I’m surprised BO let someone speak more than 2 sentences before he interrupted. Usually they speak 2 words before he does that.
Sounds like what Eisenhower did back in the 1950’s with “Operation Wetback”. They rounded up as many illegals as possible and sent them back to Mexico.
In the period 1866-1881, multiple ancestors of mine arrived at New York, subjects of Queen Victoria and the Emperor of Germany. They had many children born before they naturalized (and some never did).
When those children applied for passports or registered for the WW I draft, all listed their US Citizen status as “natural born” or “native born”, depending on the language of the form, and their citizenship was never in question.
So, at least in the case of white Irish or Germans, birthright citizenship was recognized by the generation that drafted and administered the XIV amendment.
Please see my post #54.
So they can't be found and deported silly.
That would include all of them since Eisenhower.
But your ancestors were admitted after inspection at the point of disembarkation from England and Germany.
They were admitted by Port Captains or Customs Officers, who could have rejected them on the basis of many things, even then.
But they werent. It was with this knowledge that their children would be born citizens.
It’s a fundamental difference. If the children of illegal aliens are “us”, then who are we? And who chose them to be “us”?
Answer: their illegal alien parents designated them to be citizens, not us.
What nation allows criminal foreigners to decide who the citizenry will be?
Literal reading in the context of intent. The First Amendment says “NO law” . .but we still punish defamation/fire in the theater et al
Gaming the system was never the intent.
No, of course it was not, but if we don't use the actual language to interpret, we have a disaster.
I understand the INTENT of "subject to the jurisdiction of", but, let's face it, if you can be detained, brought before a judge, have your possessions confiscated, and be sent to a third world sh**hole, then, by common understanding, you are "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States.
All I'm saying is that I do not believe there is a non-amendment fix for this problem.
