Amendment XIV is poorly drafted, but there’s no doubt that there is a legitimate literal reading that allows birthright citizenship.

I think fixing this requires a constitutional amendment.

Literal reading in the context of intent. The First Amendment says “NO law” . .but we still punish defamation/fire in the theater et al

Gaming the system was never the intent.

Nonsense.

Scotus ignored “and subject to the jurisdiction thereof,” clause, as well as the legislative history of the XIV Amendment.

Birthright citizenship is one of many horrible and damaging Scotus decisions. No other country lets foreigners determine if their newborn kids will be citizens.

Scotus also found that illegal alien kids must be educated at local public schools.

Both of these decisions, and I’m confident there are more, work to destroy our republic.
