Hello! Official Thread once again. It’s still a non singing zone. Right?
I was recently reading about beach erosion along the Outer Banks. Of course, that is the nature of the barrier islands.
The article was relating to “climate change” and how the rising seas would flood beach front.

I'm more worried about Hurricane Barack. It's been forming for years.

The Weather Channel is in drama mode, but hurricane tracking forecasts do allow preparation and evacuation plans well in advance. Not so true for earthquakes, volcanoes, sink holes, landslides, forest fires, isolated/erratic storms with heavy rains/flooding and tornadoes.
Living on the Georgia coast I gave birth to my daughter during the 1964 Dora hurricane. Too young to panic;) We did not name her Dora!!!!!
Prayers up.

Yeeeeeeehawwwwwww! Hurricane!!!!
Weather people finally have something they can dolt on for the next 4-5 days — provided the thing doesn't weaken.
Last season didn't give them much to be excited about. They are hoping for a better new season.

Stay safe.

In 1959 our family survived “Gracie” while my Father was at Shaw Field. It almost destroyed the mobile home in which we were living. We had to flee the home in the worst of the winds and go to Shaw for shelter. In October we transferred to Japan to Yokota AFB and were living in the “paddies” when a Super typhoon hit the area, destroying our house and again we had to flee in the midst of the storm to the base for cover. I have empathy for those that are going to endure the hurricanes each season. I was only seven years old when I went through those two and have endured many others but those two's memory is entrenched.
The name of the SC hurricane was Gracie but I had remembered it as Gloria.

Anyone know how Jacksonville fared? We flew home from there (Mayo Clinic) Tuesday, just in time to miss Arthur. I think I’ll take the CA shakers over hurricanes. Didn’t much care for the “regular” storms in JAX where you can’t see the car in front of you. Love the town, just not used to the weather.
