A key former adviser behind President Obama's healthcare law said the traditional role of health insurers would be "dead" by 2025, predicting massive changes in the industry.
"By 2025, insurance companies as we know them taking in premiums and paying out dead," Ezekiel Emanuel

Emanuel, the older brother of former White House chief of staff and current Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, has long argued that health insurers will shift away an employer-based system. By 2025..

Most Americans currently receive health insurance through their employers.
ObamaCare includes an employer mandate, which requires companies with 50 or more employees to provide health insurance. But the provision was delayed until next year to give

The “We have to take some things away from you for your own good” party.
I think that is being overly optimistic ...
And here are my predictions:
There will be a thriving black market for medical treatments.
There will be a thriving black market for medicines
There will be a thriving medical tourism business
“health insurers will shift away an employer-based system.”
when I was growing up in the 70’s, getting a good job with health insurance was a goal. now the goal is applying for obamacare.
I think it's under shooting by 5 or 6 years..
Does this idiot also have any global warming predictions?
Ezekiel Emanuel will be dead before 2025.
Unless Obamacare is done away with in the next few years, I give the health insurance industry little more then 5 years.
Think UK.
Fair enough...
LOL! I kind’a thought that and posted what I did to clarify my position. ;-)
No worries...
It's the fascist way.
"People living in Britain can obtain private insurance, and about 10 percent of them do. About one-third of people with private insurance purchase it with their own money, while the rest receive it as a benefit of employment. Many of the big multinationals provide such insurance, either to all their employees or to senior executives. Its considered a plum perk for everyone, and most expats coming to work in the UK consider it an essential benefit."
The UK doesn't tolerate a 100% single-payer system. Neither does Germany. The US will? I think Zeke Emanuel is nuts here. (Particularly after the VA scandal!) That's not to say that large corporations that hire large numbers of unskilled workers won't dump those workers onto Obamacare exchanges. But for skilled workers that companies want/need to attract -- private health insurance will still be there.
Here’s my prediction... Ezekiel will be hiding under an assumed identity in a country without an extradition treaty with the United States.
My insurance was dropped because of Ocare. I’ve been fighting a full month with Blue Cross/Blue Shield. They cashed my check and that was it. I’ve been told by 7 different people on the phone I was insured. No card, no benefits, nothing. One section has no clue what another does. It is breathtaking how screwed up it is. I give this system 2 years at this screwed up pace...and that is screwing up only the individual mandate of 7 million people. It can only get worse when 70 million policies get trashed. No way in Hell can it work. It isn’t working now.

Not gonna happen.
Just look at the amount of $$ they spend lobbying and campaign contributions. Also the extremely lucrative lobbying jobs they provide to politicians between stints in office.
When we hang the capitalists they will sell us the rope we use.
