The American military is facing a serious personnel issue: More than two-thirds of today's youth are too uneducated, have behavior issues, and are not physically fit enough for service.
"We're trying to make decision makers see this is a national-security matter and they need to prioritize it," retired Maj. Gen. Allen Youngman told The Wall Street Journal.

According to the article, 71% of our young people are unfit for the military.
Until, suddenly, they aren’t......
Unless they're gay. Then, by all means, make allowances.
My sister was in the OSI when some politician thought up “Project 100,000.” (In the late ‘60’s I think.) Boys were given a choice by judges, go to jail or join the military. She said it might have helped a few, but most became huge problems to the military justice system and were eventually discharged at huge expense to the military.
They are also probably not gay or transgendered enough either.
They forgot gay, spoiled, lazy, and liberal to follow orders.
Well the good news is we don’t need most of them anyway.
the people coming across the border need size 6x underwear (from a previous article- true story) and if you read The Bell Curve ( please don’t because it’s racist and evil) they have a mid-range IQ score of 80. Gee, I wonder why we can’t form an army anymore. it’s one of those mysteries. I guess we will never figure it out.
These findings are hard to reconcile with something I saw in the Meadowlands Flea Market here in NJ months ago: a pair of the new digital camouflage pants, with an elastic waistband/pouch to accomodate a pregnant “soldier”. One of my young sons with me at the time found it bizarre as well; downright creepy...
The future with a military that has no loyalty to US citizens can't be a good thing.
(I don't have any facts....just trying to think like a DC globalist sleaze)
well then they will have to draft from the Ivy League where kids are smart and lean, like the first daughters
How about an Army recruitment office at Sidwell Friends?
“She said it might have helped a few, but most became huge problems to the military justice system and were eventually discharged at huge expense to the military.”
We unleashed them on the people of South Vietnam first. Heck, a decade ago we were overlooking felonies to send troops to Iraq and Afghanistan. Now we’re badgering them about tattoos...
As Colonel Kurtz said in “Apocalypse Now”: “We tell them to drop fire on people, but won’t let them write “F&%#” on their airplanes because it’s obscene...”
29% of our youth is more than enough to fulfill our needs. The problem is who wants to serve. Why join, get sent to some third world dump to “nation build” for scumbag Muslims? Why join when they have chicken-shit ROE’s, gay and Muslim equality training, and other nonsense?
To extrapolate to the civilian jobs market, the same conditions prevail.
Jobs go begging because the quality of applicants is unacceptable
high school seniors now face the longest odds to quality for service since the draft ended in 1973.
“To extrapolate to the civilian jobs market, the same conditions prevail. Jobs go begging because the quality of applicants is unacceptable”
The military is simply creating screens to limit applicants; they are the “employer of last resort” for so many young people now, but the sad reality is that after losing the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan we simply don’t need them. People have proposed work programs like the CCC or WPA to address the unemployment; while that is debated the military is simply serving as those programs.
What’s the problem?....it’s not like orders in the field are written down in cursive, are they?
The important thing is “does this recruit fit the Administration’s profile of an acceptable representative of some victim group?”
we didn’t lose wars in Iraq and Afghanistan
You have been duped by moonbat propagandists
I don’t imagine too many of them would be volunteering anyway.
