Chris McDaniel, onthe blatantly unethical and illegal tactics employed by Thad Cochran and Haley Barbour in the Mississippi GOP runoff Tuesday
McDaniel: I am a two-term state senator, I have fought for this party my entire life, Ive given money Ive done everything theyve asked me to do and last night, they pulled over 35,000 Democrats into a Republican primary to defeat me we feel betrayed.
Hannity: Do you foresee any circumstance under which you would support this guy? Because I dont think I could do it.
McDaniel: I prayed about it last night my core principle is gonna have a hard time even looking at politics again.
Hannity: You sound like you got punched in the gut. You sound like youve been betrayed.
McDaniel: Sean, I was I have fought for these people. These are my colleagues. They are my friends I dont understand!
But Ted Cruz has bigger fish to fry
I certainly congratulate my colleague, Thad, Cruz said on Fox and Friends Wednesday morning, pointing out that the Republican establishment poured millions into the Mississippi race and only won by a thin margin. Cruz reminded the hosts that he did not endorse a candidate in the Mississippi primary, as he promised to stay out of incumbent Senate races.
As does Rand
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a potential 2016 presidential contender, declined to support tea party critics of Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochrans efforts to mobilize non-GOP voters to win the Republican nomination.
Im for more people voting, not less people voting, Paul told reporters Wednesday.
I noticed that staccato thing when Hillary and 0bama were trying to convince people “it was a video.” A slow staccato, like a metronome.
I can empathize with McDaniel. It’s like being spit in the face. That’s how I felt when the GOP bigwigs backstabbed Palin. Lost all faith, trust and respect for the GOP. It ended my lifelong, exclusive voting pattern for the Party. I leave most ballots blank now, only giving my vote to bona-fide tea-party candidates.
How do feel about Cruz?
Cruz and Paul had the opportunity to do just that. They know as much as we do about it and likely much more. Yet, they just closed ranks around their The Best 100 Club.
LOL!
If by "they" you mean the GOP-e.... they will. In short damn order, they will.
My heart went out for McDaniel in that interview. You heard the heartbreak in his voice but I loved hearing McDaniel speak of honor and principle so rare in DC.
Does Cruz not know or care the corruption that got Cochran’s win??? I am disappointed and disgusted he so quickly jumped to offer his thanks to this sleazy candidate. Dang it!
you can’t be “betrayed” by people who were never on your side to start with.
Chris - the GOPe are your enemies. always were.
Rand Paul is a nut ... and the nut doesn’t fall far from the tree!
who said anything about a pedestal? But to compare Cruz comment to Pauls comment is just absurd - not to mention how Paul has been acting the past six months.
There’s simply no comparison. Forget pedestals ..just talking proportionality.
yep, “too smart” is a bridge too far for some ..
there’s no way to get rid of these bast*rds unless we quit voting for them.
yep yep
preach it bros!
I guess he didn't notice millions of middle American's were betrayed many years ago, perpetrated by this party and their own government.
Ya tell people both parties have been riding in the same limo for many decades and they cock their heads like confused dogs.
Since this guy seems to have just now noticed, I have zip sympathy for his sudden awareness.
Establishment guy. He’s a Senator anyway. I don’t want any more Senators playing President.
Right now I really like Scott Walker. He’s not perfect, but in a few smart moves with GOP control of both chambers he killed the unions and their Democrat allies. He’s done great things on the budget and taxes and he’s savvy.
The ideal ticket would be Gov/Gov. Both center-right and 16 years of straight control of the Presidency. Poor Reagan got stuck with GHW Bush and Bush gave us Clinton. I don’t want any government insiders from DC for POTUS either. Bush made a real mess for us. Had Clinton never come to power we’d not be in half these messes.
Obama wouldn’t even be a junior Senator from Ill-Annoy. The Clintons really kicked official Washington into high gear and betrayed the country. Obama’s just turning up the thermostat those two installed.
Two can play at that game...vote for the Democrat in the Fall.
Permission to puke afterwards.
I can’t explain it Wolf, but some people like to be $hit on.
They enjoy it. They like to be abused.
The more the GOPe’s dumps on them, the more they like it.
For me as well. Though I was already questioning, the use-and-abuse treatment of Sarah Palin really opened my eyes to the GOP-e. They've done nothing since but alienate me even more, and what happened in Mississippi this election sealed the deal. The GOP-e is DEAD to me!! I don't expect much in the way of "conservatism" to happen in my lifetime (I'm 46) but I pray that my daughters will be a part of a new American awakening.
