HATTIESBURG, Mississippi — Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) survived the most intense challenge he’s ever faced in his 41-year political career, winning a runoff against conservative state Sen. Chris McDaniel.
The Associated Press called the race for Cochran, who is up 6,880 votes with 99.9 percent of precincts reporting.

If I were voting there .. I would be writing in Shannon; just to draw votes from Cochran.
And .. when is the truth about the pictures of Cochran’s wife going to surface. The question about how the photographer was allowed to enter a LOCKED facility has never been sufficiently answered; at least not to my satisfaction.
We'd be much better off ELIMINATING the party by electing nothing but democrats in November. In two years, the unhappy and extremely angry voters will know who to blame and the Democrats will forever be eliminated as well.

Nah, Cloward-Piven set up the Motor Voter thing as well as illegal immigration so that elections can always be stolen, regardless of how unpopular the “elected one” is. The point of doing that was so dems could trod over whoever and whatever they wanted, knowing that dead voters and Mickey Mouse were gonna cancel out the votes of any angry voters anyway.

That only works if he's got less than 12 months to go. But in your scenario, the Alzheimer's patient would be looking at the beginning of his seventh six-year term. Therefore, the gov would be obliged to call a special election within 90 days.
Write in McDaniel in November....he could win, since many votes for Cochran this time around came from Demon Rats who will vote for Childers.
