The timing is not merely suspicious, it is damning.
[T]he alleged disappearance of Ms. Lerner's hard drive—and the fact that the missing conversations are those the former IRS director had with people outside the IRS—has suddenly resurrected, with force, the explosive possibility that she was chatting with Democrats who mattered.
There's plenty of reason to believe she was. Just last week Congress discovered (via a subpoena to the Justice Department) emails showing that Ms. Lerner had conversations with Justice prosecutors about investigating conservative nonprofits. Who else in the Obama administration was Ms. Lerner talking to?
I'm omitting all of the correspondence between Lerner and Congressional Democrats -- but check the piece to refresh your memory.

And I think it will spark a conflagration. No one likes the IRS. And they will be shown to be the iron fist of a dictatorship. Americans just might wake up and realize what we have become. I pray there is a reckoning.
Listening to Paul Ryan interrogate the IRS commissioner it is pretty clear that the IRS has absolutely no fear whatsoever of Congress, and especially the Republicans in Congress. The IRS can pretty much do or say anything they want, and there is no downside for them to say up-yours to the US Congress.
Waterboarding will do fine.

This whole conversation around “crashed hard drives” has as much validity as oButthole’s birth certificate.
These emails all exist. The IRS has a network. They have email servers. There are copies of these emails on everyone else’s hard drives. There are 50 copies of every email floating around somewhere.
Gutless RINO’s do nothing. Scum.
Exactly, if there was any intention of nailing the regime or the IRS on this, they certainly wouldn’t be talking about “hard drives”.
This situation clearly calls for water boarding. It’s the only way you’ll get the truth out of Lois Lerner.
However, what it demonstrates is that the IRS is not to be trusted. It should be abolished and a flat tax inaugurated that would be paid by every person in the country. You live here, and you pay the same percentage that everyone else pays.
It would be great to see lobbyists and tax lawyers forced to find honest employment.
Didn’t EPA nutcase Carol Browner have a similar excuse when her files were asked to be turned over? Some BS thing about her son putting a computer game on her PC and she had to erase space?
