The transition from being a little known appeals court judge in her hometown of New York to being an easily recognized Washington personality was extremely difficult, Sotomayor said.

“People stop treating you like a person,” she said. “It’s hard for someone like me who really likes people and wants to have living room conversations that are not posted on Twitter.”

Her comments came in a wide-ranging and, for a Supreme Court justice, unusually candid conversation about her life during the annual convention of the American Constitution Society, a liberal lawyers group, Thursday evening...

Thats not shocking. Now if she had been holding a live 220 volt wire AND then the cold water was thrown...

That would have been shocking.

Funny, to the rest of us, it felt like being hit with a panful of used kitty litter...

As no information and no favors had been exchanged beforehand to signal the decision!

A humble latino would have turned down the offer as inappropriate given her complete lack of qualification.

Yes, I kind of had a clammy, cold feeling too. If she had that feeling, she should do the honorable thing, and resign. Oh sorry. Silly me, I thought maybe there was some honor among those clowns. I should have known better. There isn't any honor at all. What a sick, foul smelling, putrefying mess these dip sticks have made. Can the damage the libtards have done ever be repaired?

Yes, it was a shock. Justice Sonia Sotomayor actually had to come into the office and do actual work. The fact she knows nothing about the law was a problem, but she's delegated her opinion writing to her staff (that's what staff is for). Otherwise, she's settled in to being the SCOTUS post turtle.

Well yes it can be. But it would need to be as part of a concerted effort to get everything back into sane shape.

Right you are. She is too partisan to be fair, and too left leaning to follow the Constitution. ... Shocking, just shocking.
