House Republicans are trying to end Michelle Obamas school lunch initative and the First Ladys not happy about it.
She used a White House event on Tuesday to rally opposition to a bill passed by a House subcommittee that would allow districts to suspend the program.
From Fox News:
Seeing her nutritional standards under threat, the first lady hosted a discussion with school leaders on Tuesday afternoon at the White House where she ripped efforts to roll back those guidelines.
This is unacceptable, Obama said.
The first lady said families realize the country is facing a health crisis, and the last thing we can afford to do right now is play politics with kids health.
School districts are claiming that the lunch guidelines are overly restrictive and kids are throwing away the required fruits and vegetables. Some children have complained they were still hungry due to limited portion sizes as a part of the initative (the USDA eventually scrapped the strict portion limits).
It is not unacceptable to believe that local school districts, who deal with students and parents on a daily basis, would have a better idea of how to feed their students than Washington bureaucrats and bored un-elected activists who dare to tell the peoples elected representatives how to do their jobs.
Check the ‘properties’ on that picture. Whoever uploaded it calls it “Hate Stare”. LOL
Ending government school lunches isn’t the answer. Ending government schools is the answer.
Her Imperial Highness stares out angrily over her meatball sub and insists that the kids receive their carrot sticks and celery.
The Commissar has spoken
“Her-Royal-Rather-Large-Hind-Ass” is telling congress what to do. This coming from an obviously overweight grifter who is telling us how we should eat. Amazing.
Which is what she's doing.
go climb back under you rock you fat ass bitch.
Mooche, get a grip. It is not a crisis, not even close. Everything is a crisis to these puke faced MoFo a$$ wipes. Unfortunately, many low info voters believe these dirt bags.
When I started out in school (1966)...the person who determined the school menu, nutrition standards, and amount....was the head gal of the school cafeteria (sixty years old, HS diploma, and making $5k a year). She and three other ladies...all working from 8AM to 1:30PM....got a budget from the county and did their analysis of what kids ate and what was simple enough to work.
Yeah, we had soup or stew at least one day a week. Yeah, we had some kind of peach cobbler or apple pie every single day. No sodas possible...either you had milk or a cup of water (from the fountain, not imported from Canada). Every spring, they got a truckload of tomato or pineapple juice from the state warehouse and we all had an afternoon sip of that.
The idea that we need someone from DC to make this decision, and carry the mess....is the most bogus statement that anyone can make. If you, the parent, are unhappy....raise the issue with the school and fire the head cook if they are that stupid. What riles me even more is that they seem to think that this special kid will get one great nutritional meal from the school....to make up for the lousy one-star nutritional breakfast or dinner they get at home. Once you admit that.....you are insulting parents, and just gaming the whole system.
What powers is the First Lady granted in the constitution again? I’m drawing a blank? (quizzical scratches head)

To what office was this scum sucking pig elected? By what authority does she decide what others eat? She’s just one more fat leftist lying lawyer.
Why can’t all students have the same lunches that Moochelle’s daughters get? Fair is fair and we all want everything to be fair.
