I live in central KY and have no choice but to use satellite.
I’m already limited to 15 GB. 300 would be heaven.
“Faster bandwidth than ever, just don’t USE it!”
I’m testing a competitive internet provider for the day they implement that plan.
I use less than 300gb a month. Good!
I wonder if this is being prompted by people who’ve decided that they don’t need the cable TV becasue they are satisfied with streaming Netflicks. But for my wife who wants her cable, I could easily live with Netflicks only.
The Mobilization of the internet. I have AT&T elite. No data caps as of yet. Comcast is evil.
Somebody doesn’t like competition with their cable TV service.
I guess Comcast isn’t satisfied with 80% of its customers hating it and wants to try to drive that number up to as close to 100% as possible.
These appear to be areas that have a strong conservative bent. Is this a plan to limit largely conservative populations access to information?
Welcome to post Net Neutrality.
What if they had put a timer on your radio and TV say 40 years ago and sent you a bill for 5 bucks for every hour over 10 hours of watched TV and listened to radio per month?
Question...I’m still on dial-up, so I don’t understand this stuff...what constitutes usage?
I understand that if I download a 1.0 GB movie then I used 1.0 GB towards my limit.
But what if I get online on day one and do nothing but look at FreeRepublic for 24 hours a day....does this count toward my usage? And, if so, at what rate am I using my GBs ??
But not the useless data coming from its MSNBC property.
Targeting Netflix customers.
Thanks.
That looks political. Anyway this should be illegal. Congress gave these horrible companies a monopoly in return for building the infrastructure. Time to break them up and allow access to all comers. Broadband caps in an age when more and more information is expected to be delivered? Obscene, mean, and greedy. I am all for capitalism, but this is not capitalism this is a government granted monopoly over the broadband cable pipes.
I have no problem with this. What I do have a problem is with the lack of competition in broadband providers.
That said, I despise Comcast as a company.
This may be new for Comcast, but others have done it for a while. I don’t know what our limit is, but we never have been over. Neighbors say they give you 2 “grace” months before charging you. We do not download movies, but the neighbors probably hit them hard.
I notice that the right to work states in the S.E. were at the top of their list. They must have it in for the free, non union, low tax states of the South.
Been this way in Canada for a very long time now . $50 for 60GB ,but they did tweak it because another company offered unlimited for same price ,so now you get 500gb for $50
