URGENT: Thad Cochran is trying to steal this election!
This is an urgent call to action.
I wish it wasn't true, but it looks like Senator Thad Cochran supporters are trying to steal this election. The Clarion-Ledger is reporting that a POWERFUL DEMOCRATIC OPERATIVE inside Mississippi has been hired to go into Democratic communities and get those residents to vote for Cochran. We cannot let this blatant effort to steal the election go unanswered!

All the Freepers crabbing on this site about Democrat low life, vermin crossing over to vote for Thad Cochran....should stop complaining about that, and insure and work to get every single possible vote out for Chris McDaniel next week. The complaining rant does nothing to help Chris McDaniel....but a massive GOTV effort across the entire state of MS win means victory for Chris McDaniel. and.....every Freeper should be posting on this site, everyday....telling all folks hailing from MS to get out and vote for Chris McDaniel next Tuesday, June 24th, 2014!!! DO IT, FOLKS!!!
I doubt Thad is personally trying to steal the runoff, I don’t believe he has the mental capacity for that anymore. I believe it’s the barbours who believe they are the Mississippi Republican party. Probably spreading some walking around money in heavily democrat Hines County and the delta, $30 per vote.
James “Scooby Doo” Warren said he has put together a get-out-the-vote (GOTV) plan and is “putting it in place across the whole state.” Warren said he is not working with the Cochran campaign itself but for the PAC and Bishop Ronnie Crudup Sr.

Does a person have to be registered as an R to be eligible to vote in the R primary in MS? That quote seems to be saying that a voter who didn’t vote in the initial primary can vote in either a R or D run-off. But it depends on what “eligible voter” means. If a person is registered as a democrat, are they an “eligible voter” in the R primary and/or runoff?
By saying there is no cross-over voting it seems like this is saying that MS is NOT an open primary state so an “eligible voter” would be one who was registered to vote in the primary process for a given party.
IOW, that statement is as clear as mud.
Read my post 54:

Very clear explanation straight from the mouth of MS Secretary of State Hosemann.
Who is an “eligible voter” in the Republican primary? Is MS a closed primary state? If so, then how could there be an “eligible voter” voting in the R primary runoff who is not a registered R?
What law is the SOS citing?
Thank you. That’s not as bad as it first sounded.
MS is an open primary state. That means any voter (D or R) can vote in either the D or R primary.
For the runoff:
- If you voted in the D primary, you can only vote in the D runoff — if there is one (not in this case).
- If you voted in the R primary, you can only vote in the R runoff.
- If you did not vote at all in either primary, you are allowed to vote in the runoff, regardless of your party registration.
Although I don’t necessarily agree with these rules, they are quite clear to me. I don’t understand why all the confusion.
Stated another way, anyone who voted in the Democrat primary on June 3, is ineligible to vote in the GOP runoff next week.
The only people who can vote in next week’s GOP runoff are:
1) Those who voted in the June 3 GOP primary.
2) Any registered voter who did not vote at all in either the Dem or GOP primary on June 3.
The confusion on my part was not realizing that MS is an open primary.
When the primary is open this is the kind of crap you can expect.
About a month ago I took my son to get his driver’s license renewed and register him to vote for the first time. Sometime secretly in the past 2 years - in preparation for the Senate primary with Ben Sasse running - the Nebraska R’s turned theirs into an open primary, unbeknownst to me. I’d really like to know how they did that, when, and why. An open primary is a declaration of war against the whole party system of nominating candidates.
I will note here that the MS SOS now is the same SOS who was informed in advance of printing the general election ballots in 2012 that the HI state registrar had effectively confirmed that Obama has no legally-valid Hawaii birth certificate. Not one smidgeon of integrity there, IMHO.
I agree with you about open primaries. Should not be allowed.
However, the only gripe I have with the runoff rules is that bit about anyone who didn’t vote on June 3 can now vote on June 24. IMO, if you couldn’t be bothered to vote in the primary, then you shouldn’t be allowed to vote in the resulting runoff.
LOL thanks, I didn’t know anyone had that as a nickname...
There is something just wrong about crossing state lines to influence an election.
Sad that we have come to this. Yeah, I know. Someone is bound to say “Well the other guys are doing it.” As my Dad would have said, “That doesn’t make it right.”
Why is it that YOU understand that, and I understand that and the GOP does not understand that? Who makes the rules that there is an open primary? Here in KS, the democrat primary is open and the Republican is closed. I registered independent but I wanted to vote in Republican primary so I had to change affiliation.
That's why the dems and the GOP are spending a lot of money to stimulate those voters to come out and defeat the Conservative candidate that believes in our Constitutional Republic.
Both dems and the GOP seem to be quite against our Republic being run the way the founding fathers wanted it to be, ie Constitutionally etc.
I asked a liberal just yesterday if he intended to go vote for TC on Tuesday. He said that he sure did. I then asked if he voted in the Dem primary. He said yes. I said that was a good thing because he is not allowed to vote in the run-off. He was stunned.
Yep, sorry for the misunderstanding. I was just agreeing with you and pinged another poster who it seems didn’t understand how it works.
Thanks for the reply!
Yes its the law .more lies from Trail Lawyers Chris .the only reason he ran of GOP ticket is knew he could not win as Dem. I’m not a Cochran person either but right is right and wrong is wrong. We can get Cochran out very soon but Chris will be there 40 years also .A TRAIL LAWYER! That spells DEM to me.
Well you post was kinda unclear, what with all the cartoon references.
I see now the reality of the Scooby Doo comment, and agree it’s a pretty Mickey Mouse operation...
Wow you must be real old or didn’t have a TV in the 40’s and 50’s.
Westerns and cartoons were quite prevalent on TV when it first made it’s appearance.
I preferred the westerns.
Thanks, that clears it up for anyone who reads it with even a bit of comprehension.
