Multiple videos have been posted online showing what uploaders described as hockey fans destroying a Los Angeles Police Department drone outside the Staples Center Friday night after the LA Kings won the NHL's Stanley Cup. Riot police were called in to break up what the LA Times described as a "melee" outside the arena following the King's victory over the New York Rangers.
In one clip posted online, a drone can be seen hovering over the crowd of hockey fans before it was knocked out of the sky by people throwing shoes and clothing:

“The old see-saw begins - shotgun pellets to take out a drone, so they up armor the drone, so they make a more powerful rifle/shotgun load, so they . . .”
With presently available technology, non-military drones (especially those that hover) can just barely lift the weight they have now, and have very limited flight duration capability.
That's good to hear. I noticed that "drone" that was knocked down looked pretty flimsy.
Depleted uranium is extremely dense. Been used for decades as subcaliber penetrators in Sabot tank main gun ammo.
Used on the M-1 Abrams tank as ballistic skirting. Very difficult to breach.
DU has many uses. As anti-drone shotgun ammo it now has an additional one. How about a Remington Accelerator sabot round in 30-06, only with a DU core instead of JHP? Could easily reach 3 km aimed straight up at one of Holder’s spies in the skies.
Per the L.A. Times, there were several drones on site being operated by TV stations and production companies. LAPD is of the opinion the one downed wasn’t theirs.

I got that. Well played.
Ever see `Rowdy Roddy’ Piper in the movie, `They Live!’?
Rowdy shot-gunned one at about that height because it kept nagging him: `OBEY, CONSUME, CONFORM’.
Rotary gap transmitters have been illegal since the 1930’s.
That dancing blue spark which enabled the doomed Titanic’s wireless op to send the very first S.O.S. will interfere with absolutely any electronic device built since say, 1925.
What it would do to today’s digitized remote controllers is anybody’s guess.
If you’re series, you might want to research tungsten. It is the same weight as gold within one percent. And it’s not terribly expensive.
Good I am glad that LA King fan took it out LMAO
Least LA King fan didn’t riot they have some trash cans on fire least they so called behave themselves
That appears to be a DJI Phantom drone, available online or at hobby shops. I doubt it was a police drone.
That's because its armament are $600 hammers!
I believe tungsten was tried and found not viable, back when all the hooraw was going on over replacing lead shot that was killing all the ducks that were not hit with it, but that were consuming it off the bottom of the lakes and ponds.
Among other animals, too, I guess.
I think tungsten was pretty hard to work with, with the current technology for shot forming.
“great idea... miniature anti-quadrotor drone barrage ballons for your next tea party rally.”
Thanks... but it doesn’t have to be that complex. A dozen Mylar balloons from the dollar store on some stout fishing line will do. Once the string wraps around the prop shaft, it’s over...
I saw that happen live. Priceless! Wasn’t the last one named Bing BangOwj?
