The IRS—remember those jaunty folks?—announced Friday that it can't find two years of emails from Lois Lerner to the Departments of Justice or Treasury. And none to the White House or Democrats on Capitol Hill. An agency spokesman blames a computer crash.
Never underestimate government incompetence, but how convenient. The former IRS Director of Exempt Organizations was at the center of the IRS targeting of conservative groups and still won't testify before Congress. Now we'll never know whose orders she was following, or what directions she was giving. If the Reagan White House had ever offered up this excuse, John Dingell would have held the entire government in contempt.

What would happen to you if the IRS was auditing you and you conveniently lost your tax records?
This is something that Darrell Issa has the power to go after and should. Heads should roll.
Call Darrell Issa's office and ask then to pursue the lost email. If they can't get it from the sender they should go after the all the potential recepients: Holder et. al.

If you claimed you lost your tax records they would file an arbitrary return for you and take everything you have. As David Brat said recently, “the government has a monopoly on violence.”
Somebody needs to go to prison for destroying these emails. A crime has been committed here.
Somewhere there is a record of the emails, unless everyone involved destroyed their hard drives.
This is clearly obstruction, and it was ordered from the WH.

Lois Lerner needs to go to jail along with whichever of her enablers are still there at the IRS drawing paychecks. After that there needs to be a house cleaning of every other federal agency.
We are dealing with a bunch of arrogant misfits, who will play games until the last card is dealt and America closes it’s government doors, and is foreclosed upon by China and other lenders.

The problem with this excuse is that it makes them look even guiltier. Even the KOS clowns aren’t buying this crap. There are too many IT people in this country who can succinctly explain things like servers, redundancy, backups, offsite storage, and the fact that a so-called computer “crash” doesn’t cause one to lose emails, especially only certain ones - like those to the White House. Total joke.
BS the IRS Commissioner testified last month that the emails were archived.
A desperate lie to cover up something really bad. Everybody (except probably for high-ranking members of the eGOP) knows that these emails were backed up and saved in many, many places.
