Lakesha Thompson sports a particularly warped view of the entitlement mindset:
An elderly man shot and killed a would-be burglar inside his Oak Cliff home.
Police say the homeowner saw Deyfon Pipkins, 33, trying to climb into the window and fired his weapon at least once at the intruder.
The homeowner is legally protected by the Castle Doctrine, which allows a person to defend his or her home against an intruder.
It means they dont actually have to retreat once someone comes in their home, Sergeant Calvin Johnson, Dallas Police Department, said. You have the option of using deadly force if you believe your life is in danger.
After police notified relatives of Pipkins death, some showed up at the house. They were upset, and questioned the homeowners actions.
He could have used a warning, Lakesha Thompson, Pipkins sister-in-law, said. He could have let him know that he did have a gun on his property and he would use it in self-defense.
Pipkins had a lengthy criminal record. He served time in prison and was convicted of theft, possession of a Controlled Substance and criminal trespassing.
Thompson almost seems to view home invasion as a no-harm, no foul game until someone in her family earns a bullet as a result of his criminal activity.
It bears noting that the homeowner had been robbed repeatedly before this incident.
You would be correct.
“Pipkins had a lengthy criminal record. He served time in prison and was convicted of theft, possession of a Controlled Substance and criminal trespassing.”
As always.
And guess what: HE WOULDN’T BE DEAD IF HE WAS IN JAIL WHERE HE OBVIOUSLY BELONGED!
But, by the same token, Deyfon Pipkins should have submitted his burglary request in writing no later than two weeks before his planned break-in.
Time To Die or Make My Day or You won’t Be Back ?
Enough said, he knew the risk and was willing to die. His choice, and a homeowner helped him finish the game of life the crook played. Lakesha can pound sand (or dirt).
For some cultures, robbing is an acceptable vocation.
The victim defending himself is view as workplace negligence.
"Say goodnight."
"I'm sending you to a better place.
"I saw him coming through my window, so I fired a warning shot through his medulla oblongata."
Due to the increase in price and scarcity of ammunition, a warning shot will no longer be given.
If I were the homeowner, I would be on the lookout for retaliation by the relatives.
Perhaps he did but mistakenly placed it at the City Hall display department in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard'.
Too bad so sad. If there were more men like this gentleman, there would be fewer deadbeats going around robbing people.
Break into someone’s house and take your chances.
He couldn’t have not known that.
dint no how 2 rite
shud hab pick up deyfon an cald n adfanse
Ahem. Crimea is in Ukraine.
Just wait until the thousands of illegals begin their “home invasion” routines and then have assigned government attorneys. Coming soon to a neighborhood near you.
Well Lakesha, Deyfon got the same warning that he gave the homowner he was about to rob.
By the way, Lakesha, I’m sure you are proud of the way you raised your son.
Another aspiring rapper cut down before his first album.
Um, did anyone else notice the part about how members of the dead burglar’s family showed up at the house where he’d been shot???
It strikes me as a reprisal tactic on the part of the ferals.
