CHRIS MATTHEWS: I was listening to [David] Brat last night, and today. I hink he's very sophisticated for a politician. He's certainly up to the ranks of most politicians I've ever dealt with. He speaks in a speculative manner and an intellectual manner. He can handle any debate on this program or my program. This looking down our noses at tea party people has got to stop. They have a message, they're as American as any liberal is, and they're really angry about the failure of the system. I was over covering eastern Europe when the wall came down. The thing people didn't like, it wasn't the philosophy of communism they didn't like, it was the complete corruption of it, the failure of it to deliver to working people. And that's what this system's doing right now. We can't control the deficit, we can't control the debt, we can't control the border. What is government good at? And that's the question that's happened on every issue we've covered on our show.

he has guest hosted for Rush. I think he is add.
Beautiful! Thanks for posting it.
Who slipped Christy the sober man trust serum?
he has guest hosted for Rush. I think he has add.
Okay, which tea party fanatics kidnapped Chris Matthews and forced him to say this ?
Agree
Exactly.
>> I think Chrissy is bi polar <<
And maybe he self-medicates with alcohol?
Chris starts talking like that—he might gain an audence and some ratings. How long before MSNBC puts him on leave of sends him to a shrink!
I watched "The Five" tonight and Bob Beckel was especially concerned about last night's large voter turn-out for a primary. Cantor's defeat has caught everyone off guard.
As much as I cannot stand either one of them, Beckel and Matthews have been around long enough to know that people are motivated and angry. Beckel admitted that this surprising turn-out was not good for Democrats.
I pray that last nights's election result was a preview of things to come. We have to keep out eye on the ball.
Thanks! :-)
I think the real fear by Democrats here is that if this is what Republican voters would do to a sitting Republican in a pretty safe district, then the turnout by conservative voters in November could be monumental.
We read with the same analytical eye. It’s not that people don’t like Obamacare: they’re only upset because it’s hard to enroll and isn’t totally free. Damn’ greedy Republican obstructionists who don’t pay their fair share!
I wouldn’t wet my pants.
Notice he specifically talked about the failures of “communism”.
He will soon be falling all over himself talking about Hillary and her “Third Way” campaign.
He will be talking about how communism and capitalism are both failures and a “Third Way” is needed.
Chris Matthews KNOWS it’s over.
This is great news seeing him backpedal. It means Hussein is toast.

He was a guest on Don Imus' radio show back in the mid-2000s and he was ranting and hyperventilating about the Bush administration over some issue or another. He actually dropped a couple of four-letter words that got bleeped off the air on the radio, and Imus scolded him (I'll paraphrase it as best I can):
IMUS: "Why are you swearing at me on the air like that?"
MATTHEWS: "I'm sorry, Don. Sometimes I get carried away. Don't get upset ... I do this on my show sometimes, too."
IMUS: "Yeah, but I actually have an audience here!"
ROFL.
That sounds about right. If Matthews starts making sense MSNBC would send him to a shrink.
I’ve worked with many people from the eastern bloc. They all despised communism.
Aliens abducted Chris and replaced him with a look-alike clone.
McKinney was nuts, but Daschle was a prize. It was historic for a Senate Minority Leader to lose his seat.
Don't also forget about Tom Foley. He was Speaker of the House when he lost in his general election.
The difference between Daschle and Foley with Cantor is that Cantor was a chamber leader who lost in the primary, not the general election.
