Don't sweat Lindsey Graham-- oust Lamar Alexander, work now to bring Grahamnesty down

Posted on 06/11/2014 2:14:31 PM PDT by Javeth

Just a pep talk in the wake of all our anger at the crooked pro-amnesty and H1b RINO Lindsey Graham winning the SC primary, even amid the jubilation at David Brat's win-- I was in South Carolina myself recently and Lindsey Graham really has suffered tremendously for his support of that disgusting immigration reform bill as a Gang of 8 member. But it didn't surprise me that he was able to hang on, due to simple circumstances he was going to be all but impossible to unseat in this go-around, and in fact the lessons from 2014 will guide us on how to unseat him in 2020 and, just as important, unseat other pro-amnesty RINO traitors from Red States (or Purple states) like Lamar Alexander of Tennessee (still in this 2014 cycle) and other traitors in 2016 and 2018. Here's the list:

2016: Marco Rubio (FL), John McCain (AZ), Kelly Ayotte (NH), Mark Kirk (IL), Lisa Murkowski (AK), John Hoeven (ND)

2018: Orrin Hatch (UT), Bob Corker (TN), Jeff Flake (AZ), Dean Heller (NV), Roger Wicker (MS)

The reasons that Graham was able to hold on were simple:

-- Timing. Graham was simply lucky that he had his primary on the same day as the political earthquake of David Brat's win in Virginia, showing that the American people do not want amnesty, do not want the H1b visa and do not want Constitution-shedding traitors in the Republican establishment. So Graham held on before the mass mobilization of conservatives happening right before our eyes. Lamar Alexander, of course, isn't so lucky, so we can bring him down with the mobilization now in full force.

-- Not enough time to find and rally around a single strong opponent against him. Linda Graham's treachery on the immigration reform bill was suspected but didn't become fully apparent until the spring of 2013, basically a year ago. While this incited rage and opposition against him, that one year simply wasn't enough time to do all the difficult steps necessary to oust a well-entrenched Establishment pro-amnesty RINO like Graham (at least in the absence of a momentum-shifter like Brat's win.) Obviously, by 2020, that won't be an issue.

-- His opponents simply didn't attack him much, too genteel and polite. I was a bit surprised to see this especially from Lee Bright, but I suspect it simply might have been that the knew he didn't have enough firepower to bring Graham down yet. The key to taking down a traitor RINO like Graham is to attack early, often and hard, and to bring him down in 2020, we should start now.

-- Graham is in an open primary with a history of heavy crossover from Democrats, another important reason.

-- Graham did not even do well in his primary. As entrenched as he is, he could barely muster 59% of the vote against a divided field. This was even worse than other RINOs like McConnell and Cornyn (who, treacherous as they are, were able to hang on only because they did at least cast NO votes on the immigration reform bill). Graham has clearly stoked serious opposition in the party which we can capitalize on in 2020.

So this gives us a game plan to follow for the conservative wing to take down the Establishment crooks, funded by the pro-amnesty shills in the Chamber of Commerce.

-- First let's focus on bringing down Lamar Alexander in Tennessee in this primary cycle, like Graham a fellow supporter of amnesty and the H1b anti American visa in the immigration reform bill. This will help to capitalize on Brat's victory. Attack his record relentlessly and ruthlessly, no mercy. As for uber-RINO Susan Collins in Maine-- I couldn't care less whether she wins or loses, for now she seems to have a lock on the crooked GOP Establishment in that state but we should do everything to discourage her and let her know that her pro-amnesty shilling is unacceptable, and encourage her to simply resign from the Senate as other RINOs have done.

-- Prepare to take down the other pro-amnesty and H1b RINO traitors on that list in 2016 and 2018, especially McCain and Rubio (the two tratiors-in-chief), as well as Orrin Hatch, Jeff Flake, Bob Corker, Dean Heller, Kelly Ayotte and Mark Kirk. Especially if they're in Red States, there's no excuse for their betrayal, but Ayotte and Kirk have no excuse either-- the vast majority of voters in their purple states also opposed that America-hating immigration reform bill, so they too need to be take down. Their states will vote for a true conservative.

-- Prepare starting right now to take down Lindsey Graham in 2020-- assuming he even wins the general election in 2014 this year, which given all the anger and disillusionment he's caused among the GOP rank and file, I'm not even going to take as granted. It's too difficult to take him down if there are so many conservative Tea Party challengers fighting amongst themselves. Ted Cruz had success because, despite the crowded field, he himself had emerged as the most important standard-bearer for the conservative cause in Texas. We didn't have such a figure in South Carolina, and we need to unite behind one, and only one, conservative champion who will attract the funding and media attention to challenge Graham. I still think Lee Bright may be that person-- he simply didn't have the time or resources to organize a strong challenge and to unite conservatives behind him in 2014. But whoever the challenger to Grahamnesty and his treachery winds up being, that conservative must attack Graham and his record ruthlessly, without mercy or let-up. And in fact, they should start right now and continue the attacks daily to bleed out Graham's political viability through a 1,000 cuts. That's where we can help, by attacking Graham without hesitation. Don't worry about the Democratic threat in 2014, as much of a pro-amnesty RINO traitor as Graham is in a Red State, he does far more damage to us in South Carolina than any Democrat could. And whatever it takes to oust him, a true conservative Republican will easily win the South Carolina Senate seat in the 2020 election.

Just a hint to conservatives. Don’t run six conservatives against one RINO and expect anyone but the RINO to get 50%. Get the would-be challengers in a room, put the names in a hat, ask God’s guidance, and draw a name. That will be the candidate ALL those in the room will work to elect. It’s the only way to succeed.

Graham is more conservative than Lamar.

Brad Hutto (D) is identical to Graham. He might even pledge to vote against some liberal judges if they are bad for business.

Graham did not oversee an amnesty bill get to Obama’s desk. He did not see cap and trade get to Obama’s desk.

But he did say:”Shut up, you don’t get a lawyer”. People like that.

Ousting Cantor was the most important thing that could be done.

I wonder if Graham could be a pick to replace Chuck Hagel after 2016.

Same thing happened in Wisconsin last time with Tommy Thompson. UGH. He used to be a terrific governor years ago, then went to DC, got politicized, big head. Came back, tried to run for senate, bumped off two good other guys, then LOST to gasp...... Tammy Baldwin. What an embarrassment for WI to be represented by such a person.

you make some excellent points.

here’s the key though.

in order to do some successful ‘RINO hunting’ we need the right gun (real conservative candidate) and the right ammo (real conservative issues that are clearly communicated).

since you were talking about US senate races, that’s obviously a statewide race, so there is much greater need for money and grassroots folks being more active.

no matter that the senators you targeted are clowns and need to go, it is still very difficult to unseat an incumbent.

As bad as it is to have Graham running in Nov. the idea that a dem would do better is ludicrous.
Two points.
When the freshman get to Washington the party leaders make it clear the freshman WILL vote as the whip wants them to , or their office is going to be in a broom closet.

A majority in each house is crucial to getting anything done in Washington. Even if Graham is a rino, his sitting on that side of the aisle counts.

IOW, hold your nose and vote for Graham in Nov.

You can knock Hatch off your list. He’s retiring

Then send a conservative willing to use the broom closet as an office and post pix of it daily on Facebook while mocking the hell out of the RINO that put it there.

Then do a podcast about his fellow ‘republicans’ RINO activities and how they are using politics to screw the people of his state.

Hardball.

hold your nose and vote for Graham in Nov.

For thirty years I've been hearing, "Hold your nose and vote for the RINO!" and this country is now nearly sunk. To Hell with that.

In the 2014 South Carolina primary, 187680 votes were cast for Republican Senate candidates ... 68944 votes were cast for Democrat Senate candidates. That's a 2.7 to 1 ratio. Odd that in 2012 Obama exceeded Romney 51% to 47% in a state where the Republican voters outnumber the Democrat voters almost 3-to-1, isn't it. Cross over voters. Graham is a closet Democrat and his Democrat supporters crossed over and voted for him in the primary. He's a reliable wolf in sheep's clothing and they aim to keep him in office or replace him with an unclothed wolf. The only way South Carolina gets rid of him is to allow Brad Hutto to defeat him.

There seems to be a lot of anger from Conservatives over the win by David Brat—At least on FR.

Rush was raving today, too—Turned him off.

How about we savor what Professor Brat accomplished for 24-hours, and then refocus on the battles ahead?

If I were in SC, TN, TX (I am), I would leave the U.S. Senate race blank. Vote on other offices but not U.S. Senate. Only so much treachery can one endure

Marco Rubio has done a lot of good on conservative viewpoints and seems to have burned his RINO bridges. He got played by McCain and Schummer before he had time to see where the invasion of the US is heading, from a DC perspective. I’d be interested in hearing what he has to say about that issue now before putting him on the trash heap of RINO backstabbers.

Wikipedia puts the 2014 numbers a bit higher than mine : 110,168 (D) to 300,763 (R). Still, the ratio is about 3-to-1. In 2008, the numbers were 146,660 (D) to 278,945 (R). I wonder if 35,000 or so democrat voters got confused and accidentally voted in the republican primary for Lindsey Graham. Boy, did he ever get "lucky".

It would be good if a conservative could run for the Graham seat as an Independent.

He just might win, and the vote for Graham is sure to be split.

Which means Lindsey will have to pay for his own lipstick in January 2015.

NO MORE voting for RINO backstabbers! If the country is goin’ down anyway (and it will with RINOs in charge) I’d just as soon have the dems stuck with the mess that’s been created since the presidency of George 1.
