It is no secret that the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English will change dramatically what and how students are taught. There will be less emphasis on reading books that are fiction (the classics) and more emphasis on reading informational texts. In early grades, even elementary grades, 50 percent of reading material will now be informational text that can be anything from instruction manuals, Environmental Protection Agency announcements and Executive Orders to historical documents. In the junior and senior year of high school, that figure increases to 70 percent. How can reading instruction manuals promote a love of reading? It has been stated that reading informational text does not provide students with the deep cultural information that develops pride of ones heritage and also does not promote the critical thinking that promoters of the CCSS promise.According to the CCSS, an historical document like the Gettysburg Address is to be read without emotion and without any background knowledge as to why it was written. This presents a serious problem, as the lack of knowledge can negate the meaning of the document.

Once the ability to learn is destroyed, the only thing left is indoctrination with absolutely no ability to discriminate against it. So yeah, first they break the child, then they pour in whatever they want.
It’s the deliberate, planned destruction of the character of a human being for their entire lives through insititutionalized mind rape.
Does it even get more evil than this?
To answer my own question, yes, it does - because millhundreds of thousands of "educators" are actually carrying this out against millions of children.
So yeah, doing it is worse than planning it.
Two more states pull out of Common Core

Two Republican governors, Mary Fallin of Oklahoma and Nikki Haley of South Carolina, have just signed laws pulling their states out of the Common Core State Standards initiative amid growing anti-Core sentiment around the country.
Fallin signed the law on Thursday, while Haley did it last week, joining Indiana in officially rejecting the Core. A few other states, including Florida, are considering whether to keep the standards or have already “rebranded” the standards by changing the name and deciding to create their own standardized tests for accountability purposes rather than use the Core tests now being designed by two multi-state consortia. Fallin, who had once supported the Core, said:
“We cannot ignore the widespread concern of citizens, parents, educators and legislators who have expressed fear that adopting Common Core gives up local control of Oklahoma’s public schools.”

Those in the younger generation are addicted to the early stages of information gathering, and the powers that be in this country now are trying their darnedest to focus kids merely on this:
Data/information is king, easy to acquire at a young age through the internet and other media. The ability of young people to look critically at the validity and meaning of information is quite limited, and not taught by most teachers.
Knowledge is a bit more of a challenge, beyond many, and not worth the effort for others. It is easily replaced for many students by school sponsored indoctrination, and through other venues of cultural propaganda.
Wisdom is far beyond the capability of most, but a proper education can foster at least a little bit in even the most concrete and rudimentary minds, and can instill in the young a yearning and knowledge base that can lead to the acquisition of more as life proceeds. The acquisition of the sort of wisdom that led to the founding of this country, and ultimately to its greatness, is anathema to those who seek to destroy this country’s greatness and its freedom through Common Core and other such crap.
Right you are. Gettyburg Address a little gem. Lincoln one of a handful of presidents who were excellent writers. Jefferson was one too. There were others, of course, but to rank them after the aforementioned is difficult.
Home schooling will be illegal because it gives students an unfair advantage at being able to read and do math and stuff, plus it will be deemed racist, because black kids won’t have the opportunity to be home schooled, because their parents can’t read or do math and stuff
Oh, that’s ok, it ONLY affects those OTHER children. My children are SPECIAL because they go to a SPECIAL public school, perhaps the only one in the nation, that teaches Common Core differently and much better. How do I know that? Why because the teachers and the principal told me so. Nothing to worry about, at least for my kids.
