Comedian Tracy Morgan critical after multi-car crash in Cranbury

Comedian Tracy Morgan is in critical condition at a New Brunswick hospital following an early morning accident on the New Jersey Turnpike, according to the New Jersey State Police.

State police say the actor/comedian was injured in a crash involving six vehicles that left at least one person dead and several others, including Morgan, with serious injuries.

From what I remember, his plots were funnier than Tina Feh's or Jack McBrayer's, but his character was so abysmally stupid that it was hard to watch him very long, IMHO.

Hope he and the other victims make it through OK - he’s had his share of troubles and has caused his share of troubles, but he’s talented, funny and instantly likable on the screen. This accident was apparently the fault of a dozing truck driver who plowed his 18-wheeler into the stalled traffic in front of him.

the whole turnpike is a mess. I went up to cranbury this winter and bypassed the whole mess.

Not a fan of Tracy’s but of course I wish him a full recovery. Apparently he has a small baby too. Fame and money can’t always protect you from danger. Prayers for all involved.

Peter Haigney, a spokesman for the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, confirmed that one of the patients in critical condition is named Tracy Morgan. Three of the passengers are in critical condition and one is in fair condition. Comics Ardie Fuqua and Harris Stanton are among those hospitalized following the accident. Sadly, James McNair, sometimes known as Jimmy Mack in the comedy circuit (see his stand-up below), was killed.

Yea, I’ve driven up there and the farther north you go and the closer to NYC, the crazier it gets.

But I’ve also driven around the DC area, and it is the same thing. I’ve a theory about the Washington Capitol Beltway – just as the states send their representatives to Congress, they also send their worst and rudest drivers and all they do all day long is drive around 495 terrorizing citizens, pretty much like Congress come to think of it.

The 95 bridge is still closed I think Tilting bridge in delaware closed indefinitely, which has caused traffic to be increased on parts of the New Jersey turnpike. Wonder if this was anywhere near that area?
