“An ASSAULT handgun at that, capable of firing 2,000 rounds per second.”
You do yourself no service by posting such absurdities!
It’s a good thing the campus is a gun free zone or some armed citizen might have stopped him.
I’ve asked this rhetorical question many times after events like this. It goes, why don’t these malcontents ever turn a gun on themselves at the beginning of a shooting instead of taking x number of innocent victims with him? It would save a lot of heartache that way.
An emergency involving a hundred 20 pound tanks of propane and a) I'm going to try to call someone to solve the problem and b) How is someone who's probably a hundred miles away going to help (yell RUN!! at the top of their lungs, into the phone)?
Rhetorical or not, it’s a good question.
Prayers for the victims.
Yahoo news, listing “school shootings” of course slipped the three Santa Barbara students stabbed
“...The incident follows a spate of recent shootings on or near college campuses.
Last month, according to police, Elliot Rodger killed six people and injured seven before turning his gun on himself in a rampage in Isla Vista, California, near two universities...”

Fox reporting the shooter is a student at SPU.
That most likely means the shooter was Muslim.
Witnesses said there were 10-20 shells on the floor. If thats the case, seems like he would have had to reload a few times.
First: The majority of people in a university setting (libtards) are pretty d*** ignorant about weapons. They wouldn't know that it takes a couple of precious seconds to reload
Second: The sheer shock of the event creates a temporary paralysis such that most would not know what to do with those precious seconds.
Moral: If you can't carry, know what to do in those precious seconds--AND DO IT!
Is this the one known as Azuza?
Reports suggest the student building monitor was ROTC. And as you mention, most people would probably freeze. But also reports of guys in classrooms arming themselves with things to use as clubs.
My conservative son goes to SPU, and goes shooting with his buds from there once in awhile.
Azuza? Never heard of the term, but not to say that means much. I haven’t heard of lots of things!
“Not to be callous, but why are these shootings always a national story? 1 dead? Half a dozen are shot to death every single weekend in Chicago with ZERO hand-wringing by the media or politicians. This is just a local crime story.”
It is the libtards and their inherent racism. One white dead, big story. 100 blacks killed by other blacks, nada.
Did a search, Azuza is “something” Pacific University in California.
They had a prayer service tonight. Some recent twitter posts:
from twitter at #prayforspu:
C’mon y’all our God is BIGGER. Amazing to see our school come together to praise HIM through this time.”

Tonight some campus ministry people are up up on campus to #prayforspu. No agenda. Just prayers.

Rule # 1 = Have a plan.
Rule # 2 = Have backup plan.
Rule # 3 (but most important!) FOLLOW THEM!
“Not to be callous, but why are these shootings always a national story?”
This became a national story because of the word “reloading”, imo.
“Stopped while reloading.”
The intent was to use the shooting to justify magazine capacity limits.
They apparently rushed the story before the facts were in, though, and the reloading angle is probably not going to work, if the shooter was reloading a shotgun.
