Sidenote: In 1980, Frankie Valli's career was on the rebound. In 1975 Frankie had come came roaring back with “My Eyes Adored You,” which reached No. 1. “Swearin’ to God” and a cover of “Our Day Will Come” had both scored on the Billboard Charts and that burst of success spurred his long-time musical partner and friend Bob Gaudio to put together a new Four Seasons, led by Frankie. With his future wife Judy Parker, Gaudio wrote “Who Loves You (Pretty Baby)” and “December 1963 (Oh, What a Night),” two of the biggest hits in the Four Seasons’ history. The new hot streak peaked in 1978, when Frankie’s solo performance of “Grease,” featured not once but twice in the movie soundtrack, reached the inevitable No. 1 ranking on the Billboard charts. Frankie had also repaired his long estranged relationship with his daughter Francine and they were closer than they had ever been. As portrayed in the six-time Tony award winning musical Jersey Boys (and presumably the upcoming movie), when Francine died of a drug overdose, Valli was crushed. Bob Gaudio helped him pen this song.

WHICH CAR COMMERCIAL USED THIS?

Having gotten the wrong brand of wine in the previous post, I’m trying to remember which car used this in its commercial. It was also used as the theme of a Grenada TV series (UK) about various generals in World War II.
