Whatever US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki is trying to sell, she’ll have no buyers among the Washington press corps. Psaki tried arguing that President Obama “doesn’t give himself enough credit” for his foreign policy triumphs.
Reporters asked a sensible question in response: What on earth are you talking about? When does this president not give himself enough credit?
One reporter even asked Psaki how much credit she would give the president. Answer: A lot.
As the conversation devolves into farce, this exchange happened.
Q: I mean I mean Im talking, what specifically are you talking he doesnt get enough credit for (inaudible)?
PSAKI: For engagement initiatives like Iran, what weve done on Ukraine, efforts to dive in and engage around the world.
(Cross talk.)
Q: I mean, Russia has still annexed Crimea. I mean, Iran theres ongoing negotiations, but is that the success here that youre talking?
PSAKI: Were talking about engagement in the world and taking on tough issues that present themselves. And the United States continues to play a prominent role doing that.
Get that? Results don’t matter, just playing the game matters. Give yourself a big ol’ pat on the back just for showing up.
The “everyone gets a trophy” crowd is now running American foreign policy.

“If only I had...you know, BOOBS.”
I don't want this bonehead negotiating with the boneheads in Russia and Iran because their boneheads are smarter and gutsier than our bonehead!
Of course, most of the “journalists” left the bull session with sphincter on their breath, as always. Thanks smoothsailing.
Who was the State Department Spokesman before Jen Psaki?
I challenge anybody on this board to name even a single State Department Spox who held the office before Jen Psaki came on the scene.
We don't need somebody who can speak well and articulate US positions forthrightly. We need somebody who will say nothing. We need somebody who does not wake up in the morning thinking she can solve all of the problems in the World through the magic of her own articulance.
The problem is not what this woman says, but that she says anything at all. They need to promote the guy in the Mail Room, put him in a suit, and teach him to say "No comment".
Cringe makingly stupid
The press growing a backbone? OMG - is it possible?
"Jeepers, it's hard to think up stuff when you're having a bad hair day."
Tommy Vietor, Obamba's van driver, got national
security clearance, and attended WH Situation Room
meetings; Dude Tommy is Hillary's top pick for
Secretary of State Dude.
FEEL SAFER YET, AMERICA?
I thought Hillarys SoS was gonna be Bill?
“you might be living in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots”
Mmmmm......maybe VP?
I think BJ and Hill like being apart.
I doubt Hill would want BJ at the exec office every day, but he’d be a “rock star” on the international circuit. The traveling media would be in awe.
You're welcome. :)

Exactly.
