The best outcome for everyone if he retires. He is the Jimmy Carter of popes. Maybe the Joe Biden of popes.

In little-noticed remarks aboard the papal plane this week, the pontiff said he wouldn’t rule out following Pope Benedict XVI’s path. Pope Francis gave a candid midair press briefing to reporters traveling from back from the Middle East to Rome during which he talked about sex, money, and satanic Mass—and retirement.

Maybe the gay cardinals have something on him the way they apparently did with Benedict.

Someday. If God wills. But that headline wouldn’t have been quite so sexy, would it?

We don’t have journalists any more. We have trolls with press credentials.

Funny ... I read his quote. I didn’t see where he said “I might retire.”

So can a Pope Emeritus fill the position on an interim basis if/when the present Pope dies in office?

This pope comes across as a drama queen. Constantly needing people to pay attention to him. I wonder if the majority of Catholics like him.
