"This is unacceptable," she said during a roundtable discussion of the issue. It's unacceptable to me not just as First Lady but also as a mother."
Apparently it's perfectly acceptable to Michelle "as a mother" that her own daughters are eating meatball subs and ice cream at for lunch their elite private school Sidwell Friends, as we reported yesterday.

She needs to shut the blazes up.
“I am perfectly fine with providing more nutritious food to our children”
Parents job
Nope, I figure she is going to really PO old Hillary by deciding at the last minute to run for Prez and the country needs the first black female president. Oh, wait....
The Moose is way too bossy.
I think it’s more likely the Chicago mob will go for Lizzie Warren if the decide to torpedo the Clintons.
Even the mob probably couldn’t elect another Obama in 2016.

Hey, where do you get off bringing up the lifestyle of the ruling class here? They get different standards, you pukes must do as they say, and do so with a smile and a cherful “Yes Master”! When will you learn your place?
lol
... If the GOP want’s to attract the attention of younger voters they should add “School Lunch Reform” to their platform .... Of course they would have to lower the voting age to 12 years of age LOL
Just read today that the kids are dumping their vegetables and fruit on the way from the serving line to the table. They don’t even want to be in the same room with them.
I have no problem with Michelle Obama or anyone else acting in an advisory capacity as to what they think are healthy meals. If the federal government wants to supply healthy food information to the schools—no problem. I don’t even care if some states voluntarily enact Michelle’s healthy eating guidelines.
What I do not like and what violates the US Constitution is a federal government that takes control of our schools, telling them what they must teach and eat. Programs like the school lunch program usually start with good intentions, but they always, inevitably feed the regulatory state with a handful of people telling millions of us how to live. That is simply not right in a democratic republic.
Including the part where “food” rejected by the kids cannot be fed to pigs?
Yeah, I’m more concerned about what they’re putting in the kids’ heads than their stomachs.
That said, Black Evita has spoken, so...
In fact, the Supreme Court has officially clarified, in terms of the 10th Amendment nonetheless, that powers which the states haven't expressly delegated to the feds via the Constitution are prohibited to the feds.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
So what the FLOTUS needs to do if she wants schools to implement her school meal plan is the following. She needs to encourage Congress to propose a federal school lunch amendment to the Constitution to the states. And if the states choose to ratify the FLOTUS's amendment then the feds will have the constitutional authority that they need to regulate school lunches and the FLOTUS will be a hero.
And Moochelle’s kids have armed guards.
But prole kids aren’t people ....
The Queen has spoken.
” If the federal government wants to supply healthy food information to the schools”
Not sure where that is authorized in the U.S. Constitution. Certainly is camel sticking its nose under the tent. Education happens locally. You’re right in that any private citizen can advocate for any policy he or she chooses.
Let me see if I understand this.
As the woman who perhaps sleeps with the president, she has power to change federal rules in leftist bureaucracies?
In what world...??
In this one, evidently.
