Why would anyone voluntarily go hear him talk?

If I were a cadet I’d go AWOL from my own graduation...

It doesn’t seem like they are really excited about the President but really the parents who they finally get to meet. One of the companies are not happy of the event at all due to the Army having similar items sold on base and hurting his business and then their is the traffic which nobody would be happy about.

They are just excited that the majority of their mandatory service won’t be under him.

A real warrior (what West Point is supposed to be turning out), would respond to an enemy as an enemy and not as a friend.

Gentlemanly protocol is reserved for signing the surrender treaty, not for a mid battle chance encounter.

Turn your backs, gentlemen.

It would take a "great act of courage", if these cadets were
"to spit & turn their backs" on this Marxist @$hole.

A commander in chief that couldn’t care less about the military ... unless it’s a photo op situation.

Graduations are about the students. I can’t remember any graduation speakers from any event that I attended with the exception of Gore when he spoke at West Point a few years ago. And the only reason I remember him was for the negative remarks that spread through the stands.

Graduation speakers represent a perfunctory institution that you just have to suffer through. Maybe there are some good ones but I’ve never experienced that. Just a lot of totally forgettable ones.

... would anyone voluntarily go hear him talk?

I would go. It's about time the Army developed combat teleprompters. Affirmative Action Officers need them to issue commands to their troops.

To watch my CiC swivel his sleek head from one teleprompter to another as he delivers platitude after platitude after non-sequitur is an awe-inspiring sight to see and wonderful to hear.

Somehow, it brings me back to my glory days in combat, during which a frequently heard phrase was,

"WTF was that?"

While the White House has not said specifically what the president will talk about, there seems to be general concurrence among administration observers that he will lay out a broad vision of his approach to foreign policy for the remaining two and a half years of his presidency, in the wake of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

You have got to be kidding me. This is the speech a president gives in the first year or two of his presidency -- the Iraq War and Afghanistan ended with Bush for all intents and purposes. Yet here we are, almost to the end of the Obama debacle, and he is "laying out a broad vision of his approach to foreign policy for the remaining two and a half years of his presidency, in the wake of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan." It means he has done nothing useful over the past 6 years.

I would love to see the cadets file in silently...and then remain completely silent and emotionless during all of Obama’s interaction with them. That would be dramatic!

The good news for the graduating classes at Annapolis and the Air Force Academy: Obama is going to West Point this year.

The bad news? The midshipmen at the USNA got stuck with Chuck Hagel, while the zoomies at the AFA wound up with Joe Biden.

I’ll go out on a limb and say the speeches will probably be the low point of graduation week at all three schools. Incidentally, the commencement speaker at the Coast Guard Academy was Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, one of Obama’s political lackeys. I’m sure that was an inspirational address.

Kudos to grads from each graduating class at the academies this year. They deserve plaudits for a job well done and embarking on a career of service to our nation. Just a shame that they have to listen to one of those hacks before getting their diploma and commission.

I was an OTS product. Didn’t have to worry about sitting through some politician’s “speech” before we got our gold bars.

IMHO, the entire Corps of Cadets, Superintendent and cadres are in violation of the Honor Code.

The Honor Code was never developed to allow homosexuals into the Corps. That it has been usurped by “modernists” renders it worthless.

And now the islamist enemy comes to call, who, like “Predator” further peruses the skulls of those he would murder.

They wouldn’t. Attending graduation is mandatory for cadets. UCMJ applies to them too.

Even the applause will be compelled to a certain extent.
