The most important thing with pet care is knowing what you can and can't feed your dog. That and capitalizing on your puppy for hilarious memes.
As long as you stick to a pretty decent doggy diet, everything should be gravy right? Wrong.
Turns out there's a ton of foods you probably didn't know about that can actually be really bad for your dog, including some that are perfectly healthy for humans.
After all, there's nothing worse than having your dog suffer over a simple mistake in diet.
While they're still man's best friend, they probably shouldn't eat like your best friend. Because we at Foodbeast care about you and your canine companions, here are 12 human foods that your dog should most definitely avoid.
* Chocolate
* Milk
* Cheese
* Onion
* Macadamia Nuts
* Garlic
* Grapes
* Avacodos
* Apple Cores
* Yeast Dough
* Caffeine
* Bacon

Bacon??
Anything from China.
Bacon?? My dog would kill for bacon.
“Bacon??”

and Milk? Must be that evil FAT, don’tcha know?
Add to the list:
sugarless gum
(or anything that’s labeled sugarless that contains xylitol)
Xylitol is a common sugar substitute, a carbon ring with 5 carbons.
It is fatal to dogs. So much so, that two sticks of gum can and will kill your dog in less than 24 hours.
My dog has eaten eight of the items on this list that I know of and he is still alive. He just got a clean bill of health from the vet two weeks ago.
“IT’S BACON!”
Cheese, bacon, milk? My dogs love them all and have suffered no obvious ill effects.
More like die for it, if this author is to believed.
1. Ibuprofen.
Same here. My 2 Jacks are 14 years old, healthy, with beautiful coats. They eat what we eat. If we have meatloaf/potatoes, that’s what they get. 100% people food for dinner and science diet for the remainder. And if they found xylitol gum stuck to a rock in the park, they would eat it - probably have.
Stick to “Dog Food”and guess what,you will be fine..
PS,Bcaon sux for any one/thing
The article implies that too much bacon is bad. I agree, too much of anything is bad.
Coming on the heels of the actually deadly pet food/snacks from China stories, I find this “story” awfully convenient...
In addition, some of the foods on the list won’t necessarily kill a dog, may make their tummies upset and cause some severe flatulation, but not kill.
This could have been written by those commies at CSPI as far as I’m concerned.
They are wrong about avocados.
I have known a number of dogs who ate chocolate in quantity and suffered no ill effects. I used to use chocolate by the hundreds of thousands of pounds. It was a readily available to all our pets.
I’ve read where it’s fifty-fifty on garlic. I’ve given my border collie a quarter clove of chopped garlic in a tablespoon of olive oil. For years. Since she was like one. She’s now 12. Beautiful coat and no fleas. Ever.
Using that cheese slice product to give my dog her pills when she needed them from time to time.
Don't ask me why.....
