One in four adolescents is likely to acquire a sexually transmitted disease, according to the first ever Youth Sexual Health Plan released by New York State. As CBS 2s Vanessa Murdock reported, the state has launched a controversial plan to tackle sex education among youth.
The state Department of Health said some 60 percent of high school students in New York state reported theyd had sex by their senior year of high school, and more than 25 percent by their freshman year of high school.
More than one in 10 students said they did not use any method to protect against pregnancy using their last experience of sexual intercourse, while only 7.2 percent of sexually active students used a condom as well as another birth control method, the state said.
This was part of the reasoning behind the release of the first ever Youth Sexual Health Plan, a 22-page document defining sexual health as a state of well‐being in relation to sexuality across the life span that involves physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual dimensions.
Among the main objectives of the document are promoting the continuity of sexual education across the state, reducing the rate of HIV and sexually transmitted infections, and reducing unintended teen pregnancies.
To reduce the rate of HIV, the state suggested mandatory offerings of HIV testing to all persons 13 or older.

My irony meter just pegged.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
So the very reason these people claimed said we need to let the public schools teach sex education to children is the result we get when we do allow them to teach the children sex education.
I am sooo darn angry over this.
Martin Luther King said that Christians are the most schizophrenic people on the planet, because one moment we are on our knees praying and praising God, and the very next moment we want to punch our neighbor in the mouth.
Well this schizo Christian, has a strong desire to punch someone in the back of the head via their face!
God forgive me, but I want to line them up and shoot them one at a time.
OK, got it out of my system.
Lord, help these fools who think they know better than You.
OH yea, and forgive me for my anger.
Huh?
How about gospel punches?
Tell people that they’ve already sinned, but only some have taken advantage of the rescue.
That would do.
:)
Jeepers. Thanks for the ping!
Talk about hitting the nail on the head.
There are times when it’s appropriate to braid a whip and turn over some tables.
Thanks,
It would be appropriate here ...
Well consider also the Common Core which was just a smokescreen for the Big Federal Data Base on all children (and most likely parents too) . . . all the way through college and then probably careers. . .then top it off with the invisible data tattoo they have created that can be reprogrammed.
Last days stuff.
