With the number of Progressive Talk stations dwindling, yet another syndicated Liberal Talker is ending their terrestrial radio shows. Ed Schultz will cease production of his daily 12-3pm eastern show on Friday in order to focus more attention on his MSNBC TV show.
In its place Schultz will host a one hour streaming program and podcast on his WeGotEd.com. The podcast will debut on Tuesday, May 27. Schultz stated on MSNBC, This change will give me more flexibility to be on the road, to do the kind of shows I want to do here forThe Ed Show here on MSNBC. This is on me, you know. I just dont want to do a three-hour talk show anymore.
"In 5 years we'll be on 600 stations"--Jon Sinton, Air America Radio, 2004
Who?
(I’m series)
Gee... that’s a shame.
/s
Air America went on the air in early 2004, to proivde liberal talk, and to try to defeat Bush in the 2004 election.
Liberal talk radio never took off. I wonder why?
Ha haaaaa!!!
What a coincidence. Nobody wants to hear you do a three-hour talk show anymore.
If they ever did in the first place.
WeGotEd.com.?
If I had it, I sure as hell wouldn’t tell anybody!
They got Viagra and Cialis for that nowadays..................
Yeah...this Schultz loser is going to be in a world of hurt when his TV gig ends involuntarily due to laughably poor ratings. Then he’ll probably wish he had kept his radio show that nobody listened to.
Actually I think he is ‘Leaving to spend more time with his family” since he probably was more radio stations than those radio stations had listeners to his program. And he wasn’t on many to begin with...leaving him an exceedingly source of revenue for all involved.
MSNBC is a different story since they are ultimately liberal, not ad revenue funded.
This is really going to upset like five people.
Because they are low life “Democrat” traitors to the American Republic!!! End of story!!!
Penicillin may be more apropo...
Some comments from radioinsight.com:
CURT:
>>Over the years, Ive sampled Lib Talk from Air America and 1520 in Buffalo before they went Sports last year. Angry ranters like Randi Rhodes and Ed Schultz turned me off right away. The only ones I could stomach were Alan Colmes and Harry Shearer. Can anyone recommend someone who intelligently discuss the issues from a liberal perspective?
CRAZY MONKEY:
>>Good, I never liked his show anyways. He was the finest mudslinger and name caller I know of. Most other liberal talkers are similar, but hes the worst Ive heard...when Ive listened to Rush take callers in the past few years, he is actually quite calm and funny. Of course Rush acts like he knows everything, but Ive never heard him yell, be disrespectful or call names to his callers like Ed. Ed will just yell you off the air if you disagree with him
no logical debate, just yelling. And Im not just saying that, it seems like every time I turn his show on, this happens. When a liberal caller talks to Rush, he tries to reason with them, and he doesnt get all bent out of shape like Ed does.
Edit...Exceedingly BAD source of revenue.
Anyone who has tuned in to “The Ed Show” and not felt that he was watching some kind of sick parody is seriously confused. I saw a few minutes of it once and was flabbergasted. I thought surely this nutcase must be trying to look as absurd as he possibly can on purpose. I watched a couple of minutes once after that to see if it could really be as ridiculous as it seemed and it actually was. It takes a really sick puppy to watch Mr. Ed the talking Jackass and take him seriously. He could actually make Piers Morgan look like a sober minded reporter. In short anyone who is a serious fan of Ed Schultz needs to go to the nearest emergency room and ask to see a psychiatrist immediately.
The answer is clearly for Ed to run even farther to the left.
Another booger eating moron bites the dust.
It does exist...on NPR, of course. But not really commercially! (In fact in Boston a centrist/left duo, Eagan and Braude, were quickly scooped up by NPR affiliate WGBH after FM talker WTKK changed to rap)
Commercial liberal talk radio...? Who would want to advertise?
“So these big corporations like Walmart and the oil companies are just EVIL! OK, we’ll be right back after this..public service announcement...”
A guy PAID to have libtalk on AM 1510 Boston but it flopped. (Now the station, currently doing sports, will air ‘libertarian-lifestyle’ shows like Glenn Beck, Dr K, etc.
starting June 1)
I still remember how Clear Channel started prog talk on AM 1200 and 1430 in Boston, Oct of ‘04, and Al Franken set up to do shows in Boston the week of the election. It was going to be a glorious tribute to President-elect Kerry! Ha, did not happen, and for several days afterwards Franken and company sounded depressed and sleep deprived, when not ranting about another ‘stolen election’..)

Can you recommend someone to intelligently discuss the spectrum of color from the perspective of being born blind?
