Back in ‘92 I did not vote for Diane Feinstein’s senate opponent, Michael Huffington, Arianna’s then husband from whom she got her name and money.

Feinstein was running for the first time. I certainly was against her all the way of course wasn’t going to vote for her.

I didn’t vote for Huffington, or Feinsten, and I was right about Huffington.

But, looking back, it would have been better to have had Huffington win and keep Feinstein out, never letting her get a foot hold.

In other words, if I lived in KY I’d be voting for Bevin in this primary, and voting for whomever turns out to be the Republican nominee in the fall.

I learned a lesson.

Well I’m all for that….I just think Ky is a much more doable result than Ohio...

What would be the downside of his losing in November to the Democrat?

Bevin never had any chance. He never led MCConnell in any poll. Senate Conservtives Fund - which I contribute to - basically threw away money on a campaign that had no chance. Money that could have gone to people like Chris McDaniel, or TW Shannon. They should have known better. The Bevin Money from SCF was nothing but personal animus money wasted because Matt Hoskins hates Mitch McConnell.

Why don’t you wait until the election is over before you post this troll?

I will NEVER, I repeat, NEVER vote for an "Establishment Republican" again, ....NEVER ! ! !

Same here! Let the RAT win instead of these traitors within our ranks. They must be voted out, one way or another.

Once they are gone, real Conservatives can start to win.

I looked up what Bevin said about cockfighting. Here’s a researched article on the Founding Fathers and cockfighting. Bevin should learn to research what he says better. He also claims not to have known it was a cockfighting rally.

“Many” of the founding fathers were “very actively involved” in cockfighting.

You ask me?

Well since you did, No downside at all, McConnell has shown himself over and over to be a Democrat-lite. It’s better to actually have a real democrat in the position, at least she won’t stab you in the back all of the time. She’ll just do it to your face.

Feigning silly outrage and being Dem girlish over this probably wouldn't work in the neighborhood state of SC.

Ditto. I have been fed that line once too often "He is better then the RAT" and I refuse to play that game anymore. The RINOS are more dangerous than the RATs - with a RAT you know exactly what you are getting, with a RINO there is a surprise every month, e.g. "Comprehensive Amnesty on again off again.

McConnell didn’t get to be minority leader because he’s a wimp. This was clearly a bridge too far from the get-go.

Bevin never had any chance

That is the way it always was in the Soviet Union, and the way it is in Cook County and other Ruling Class/Marxist Machine Political Oligarchies.

McConnell trashed Bevin and Conservatives more heinously than he would ever DARE DREAM of attacking a Democrat or Obama.

I think he said he was going to "Crush the Tea Party" "wherever they found them".

Only Ruling Class Statists, say such things.

McConnell is actually far worse than Obama. For traitors always are, because they sneak up behind you and slit your throat while you think you sleep safe in the camp, and they open the gate for the enemy while creating the illusion they oppose the enemy.

Now if he becomes the Senate Majority Leader, will we see the same nastiness towards Obama that he showed his primary challenger? I won’t hold my breath.

If only McConnell was half as nasty going after Reid as he was to the Tea Party.

Why hasn't he been asked that question "on the record"?

“Feigning silly outrage and being Dem girlish over this probably wouldn't work in the neighborhood state of SC.”

Well evidently, the Founding Fathers “feigned silly outrage” too.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2014/may/01/matt-bevin/were-founding-fathers-active-cockfighters/

“As for other founders, we will note that in October 1774, the Continental Congress, which would become the United States’ first governing body during the Revolutionary War, signed a resolution that, among other things, discouraged cockfighting. Fifty-seven members of the Congress signed the resolution, including such well-known founders like Jefferson, John Jay and Samuel and John Adams.”

Bevin said that the Founding Fathers supported this. I think this was a stupid excuse and it turns out not to be true. According to the article, Washington attended one in his youth and left before it was over. The Founding Fathers owned slaves, so does that mean it is okay to own slaves? Bevin should have just stuck to States right. He kept digging a hole for himself on this issue.

I agree. Why post an opinion from the left when the voting isn’t over yet?

There is very little interest in this election day. Lot’s of smoke and very little fire. If Bevin gets people out, then he could win. McConnell has extremely low approval numbers. Even republicans don’t like him. No one is excited about him; even his friends are only doing what they see as their duty.

I can actually see people going inside the voting booth and changing their minds. I can also see a very low turnout.
