Matt Bevin: McConnell pretending to be conservative to trick his way back into the US Senate

Matt Bevin spoke with Chuck Todd this morning about today’s race and how he plans to beat McConnell. When asked by Todd if he believes Mitch McConnell is a conservative, Bevin explained how McConnell is only pretending to be conservative in order to trick his way back into the US Senate:

No… No I don’t.

Conservatives don’t vote to bailout Wall Street banks with taxpayer money.

Conservatives don’t vote for amnesty multiple times.

Conservatives don’t vote for every single debt ceiling increase that comes down the pipe and then battle their own party to make sure you don’t cut anything in the process of giving president Obama a blank check.

Conservatives don’t vote to infringe on the constitutional rights of Americans and allow through the Patriot Act and the NDAA the indefinite detention of Americans and the ability of the government to spy on law-abiding citizens.

These are not votes that are cast by conservatives. And Mitch McConnell has voted for and been a strong supporter of all these things. He is not a conservative. He just pretends to be one every six years in order to try and trick his way back into the US Senate.

I’ll be voting for Bevin after work. I really hope he wins the primary because I really don’t want to hold my nose and vote for the democrat in November.

What has he done,
This Son-of-a-Mitch,
To protect We, the People
From Reid and Obama?

Does Kentucky want
SIX more years of McConnell
Bi-Partisan Horse Pucky?

The “Devil we know” is what y’all have,
Predictable and rotten to the core.
Why to choose to reward
The crook in the horde
When a new horse
Is chomping at the bit?

Sure the cockfighting issue has temporarily subsided, but if Matt were to survive the primary, the media would bring it back in a hurry.

No bias at FoxNews as they announced several times of the primary pitting McConnell against "Bevin, who was caught giving a speech at a cock fighting rally."

” I really don’t want to hold my nose and vote for the democrat in November”

Good to hear your stand on this, hope that conservatives in boehners do the same in the general. Freshman rat congressman and senator in OH and KT are much better for our country than the orange menace and the gobbler.

Run over the Turtle. Boot him from office. His recent statements have some of the gullible fooled but his actions say everything.

Yep. For me it’s about the country, not the party. And eliminating McConnel (in whatever way we can) is actually good for both in the long run.

McConnell is going to win. Leaders don't lose during primaries. Mitch is ahead by 20 points. I just don't understand people who get all excited and think this primary is competitive. ALL the evidence for months has indicated Mitch will win. The excitement is the general election which is supposed to close.

I'm sure you will be one of many who will express shock and dismay tonight in your postings that Mitch easily won and that you just don't understand.

I'm an observer from afar. Constitutional conservatives can and do win, but they have to run perfect campaigns. Support from outside their state can get them recognition as a serious, viable candidate, but it's up to them from there. They can't waver on issues of government over-reach and the failure to protect US citizens, our rights, and the borders.

Bevin made some mistakes. He should acknowledge that. Constitutional conservatives have to be better, both in primaries and elections. Look at Sasse...he ran a real good campaign, and the stuff they threw at him at the end didn't deprive him of victory.

JMHO

No. I don’t think this primary is competitive. I realized that a while back. That is when I had to really think hard on what I would do if Mitch wins. I weighed the ins and outs and did a lot of soul searching on the issue.

I know people who are campaigning hard for Bevin, but even they know this is a huge uphill battle. We all think that if Bevin wins it will be an act of God.

Removing Turtle via Grimes and Boehner via his opponent could mean Ted Cruz, Senate Maj. leader and Trey Gowdy, Speaker of the House.
