Miami will likely be underwater before the Senate can muster enough votes to meaningfully confront climate change. And probably Tampa and Charleston, tootwo other cities that last week's National Climate Assessment placed at maximum risk from rising sea levels.
Even as studies proliferate on the dangers of a changing climate, the issue's underlying politics virtually ensure that Congress will remain paralyzed over it indefinitely. That means the U.S. response for the foreseeable future is likely to come through executive-branch actions, such as the regulations on carbon emissions from power plants that the Environmental Protection Agency is due to propose next month. And that means climate change will likely spike as a point of conflict in the 2016 presidential race.

Let’s start the evacuations immediately!! (The first week of November would be good...)
> The hell with Miami! Im holding out for Washington DC.
San Francisco too...
If we can keep all the leftists from moving out of the coastal cities, I’m all for a major sea-level rise.

The best collection of articles which show how the Klu Klux Klimatologists lie.
Can’t say it here but my response would be “N-word, plea
Confronting a delusion by refusing to base any action on it isn't meaningful? How does this dude focus on typing while his hair's on fire?
Excellent.
Okay.......and the down side of this would be???
If Congress were to “act” and the prognostications of the Warmists were to somehow, improbably turn out accurate, it would not change one single thing and they’ve admitted as much.
When the day comes that China and sundry other leftist most favored nations are targeted by the same draconian, economy-sapping penalties, I’ll believe they’re serious. Carbon emissions from China or Bangladesh are indistinguishable from carbon emissions in the United States. If the one is dire, so is the other.
Until then, it’s just another socialist wealth redistribution scheme.
For millions of years, the beach was all the way up to Atlanta. Where is the ideal shore line?
Twice a day the water in Miami rises at an alarming rate but for some reason it then recedes. Just imagine if it didn’t stop and go back down, now panic about that and call for laws to stop it.
What about Detroit?
What a scientific article.
One paragraph about the threat, and who is threatened, of course backed up by all zero of the facts he sited..
and then we get to the real poop of the article....Obama,Obama,Obama,evil rich,Obama,Obama,Obama,Obama, democrats struggling, republicans mocking, Obama,Obama,Obama...
Miami can go all Venice on us, and build its new structures using the foundations and first couple of floors as their new base, while using boats as surface transportation.
There is precedent for building a city up from its old foundations, and making the first floor into basements. Most of downtown Chicago is constructed just that way - the sidewalks were vaulted, and a new sidewalk was built on the top of that vault, with access to the SECOND floor as the entry. Vast amounts of earth and stone were brought in to raise the street levels to that of the second floor, but the old “underground” still exists, beneath the sidewalks.
Right where it is, of course. Anything else creates scary statistics. And we know how leftists have a love-hate relationship with scary statistics. There is no scheme too draconian to put them off of their statistically normative belief system, in any instance of statistical variance.
Just one question...How soon can we move the US Capitol to Miami?
