Hillary Rodham Clinton pointed to the 1990s as a time of broad-based prosperity under her husband, former President Bill Clinton, contrasting it Friday with policies under Republicans that she said promoted tax cuts for the wealthy and the emergence of “an entire shadow banking system.”

The potential 2016 Democratic presidential candidate offered her most extensive remarks on the economy since departing the State Department as the nation’s top diplomat, portraying her husband’s two terms in the White House as a period of steady job growth and opportunity for many Americans. …

The Clinton Administration lucked out because the 1990's was when the Internet took off as a public entity--and many companies sprang up to take advantage of it. Microsoft was an early beneficiary because Windows 95 was the first commercial operating system to incorporate the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) "stack" necessary to connect to the Internet as part of the operating system.

H/T Mark Levin, he says Hillary is going to run on Bill’s economy....if the GOPe runs Jeb he’ll be forced to run on George’s (which at the end was pretty bad).

Jeb will lose huge as a result.

GOPe cannot pick our candidate...we need to push a constitutional conservative now

Scandal after scandal kept the Clintons on the ropes so they could not implement what they wanted...and the economy took heart as a result.

I don’t think the economy is much of an issue anymore in deciding US elections.

Caliph Baraq was re-elected with 8% unemployment (13% real), $4 gas, surging food prices, and trillion dollar deficits forever. Something I thought impossible.

Crony capitalists to provide the $$ and entitlement army to provide the votes.

And Hillary was very good in the economy. I recall her turning $1,000 into $100,000 in one year buying cattle futures. Anyone who can accomplish that feat deserves to run for president.

That’s right. Democrats were blaming Bush for the economy even before he took office.

Not hard to do when you have corpses voting and living people voting more than once.

The tail end of Reaganomics for the early years and the Contract with America for the later years caused the expansion. The only good thing Bubba did was start to sign bills that the Republicans passed.

I can see your point, why would anyone vote for a loser like Barry ...
But Hillary the Retard is making it an issue.
If you know any lib retards who make it an issue, you can remind them that Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, in the midst of a sanity attack no doubt, said that her Retard party “owns the economy.” That’s an admission.
Hillaretard is implying that under her reign, the economy would be good. The Demoretards have had six years, yet have screwed the pooch: The economy sucks.
Under Democrats. Period.
If she wants to open this door, we walk right in.
But not for a Bush or anyone the GOP/Iowa anoints. If our candidate isn’t a conservative, she can say anything she wants and I won’t care.
I’m gone mini-Galt anyway.

The idiots in chief at Asspress let her get away with remembering Bill Clinton, and forgetting the current Dimprez and the current economic disaster. Then she gets to refer to nameless Republicans, certainly not those named Reagan.

Asspress never fails to amaze me.

“Like everything, the economy cycles and they hit it at a time where computers were taking over the world...a wild, creative period in our history.”

Exactly: the Clinton administration enjoyed a huge boon from techological innovations in computers, personal communications, and the entertainment industry. In addition Clinton had an enormous peace dividend because the Cold War was over.

Unfortunately, almost nothing of lasting cultural significance came out of the 1990s. It was an extremely shallow and superfluous era that will be remembered for practically zilch.

Fortunately, few people in any branch of government understood the technology therefore few wanted to regulate it, as opposed to oil, gas, etc.

Now that the internet is as common as indoor plumbing we’re getting Net Neutrality and the like.

The 1987 Tax Simplification Act destroyed my construction business and by 92 forced me to close a 57 year old business.

The 90s stunk!

That’s not the reason she’s unfit for dog catcher, though.
