Exactly: the Clinton administration enjoyed a huge boon from techological innovations in computers, personal communications, and the entertainment industry. In addition Clinton had an enormous peace dividend because the Cold War was over.

Unfortunately, almost nothing of lasting cultural significance came out of the 1990s. It was an extremely shallow and superfluous era that will be remembered for practically zilch.

At least during the Nineties you could enjoy holidays without people getting hysterical over the slightest offense. It was the last really enjoyable era that could be lived without the misery we’re expecting now.
