Privilege is a word thats been tossed around a lot lately. But if youre wondering about its origin, look no further than Peggy McIntosh, a womens studies scholar at Wellesley College. Before Princeton freshman Tal Fortgang Checked His Privilege at the suggestion of his university professors, McIntosh wrote a paper in 1988 entitled White Privilege and Male Privilege: A Personal Account of Coming to See Correspondences Through Work in Womens Studies.

There is a lesbian black teacher or something at UT-Austin who teaches that crap
The Left is captivated by their own pride and hubris. To them, there is no God, therefore they can control earth's climate.
To the Left, there is no God, therefore there are no immutable standards. Whatever THEY say is right or wrong is so and there is no other determining factors outside of their own small minds.
They are becoming unhinged right before our eyes.
(Sorry if I sound like another poster)
Yup, it changed my life too. I used to think that a normal person could get ahead by hard work and effort, but I see that there are obstacles placed in the way of White males.
I used to be tolerant of other peoples’ views, but I have little to no tolerance of these intolerant idiots.
I benefited from no White privilege. Having a father and grandfather who busted their a$$e$ is the key. That is not White privilege.
Oh, but you are missing the whole ball of crap. If they were white, they automatically had doors opened for them just because of their whiteness. Had they not been white, the racial doors would have stayed shut. Fine example would be, oh, say, Clarence Thomas. Oh, wait he’s black. If you ever get to read his biography, it’s very good.
I have actually had a lib tell me that “parents who bust their asses for their children IS white privilege”.
White privilege exists. Have you ever been called an “Uncle Tom”? Have you ever been called too much like another race because you’re trying to do good in school?
How often does Planned Parenthood try to bring a clinic into your neighborhood?
Her demand is that if you are white, or Christian, you must give up your God given, Constitutionally protected, Natural Law, Rights.
I understand where you’re coming from, and I know PP targets black neighborhoods,
but we have a local community (173k) here with a PP with this makeup:
84.4% White, 4.3% African American, 0.3% American Indian, 6.3% Asian, 2.1% from other races, and 2.5% from two or more races
An invented term for an invented concept invented by a do-nothing teacher in an invented field at a pretentious college.
Sure seems to be a solid basis for formulating public policy.
“...Peggy McIntosh, a womens studies scholar at Wellesley College...”
My gawd, we’re deluged with oxymorons today, are we not?
Woman studies scholar?
Really?
How about a dung beetle scholar? Oops, that might even have a useful purpose...in that we could more properly understand the Obamadork and Harry Reid.
Anyone who tells me to check my Privilege is going to be told to check their Victimhood.
I think this ‘white privilege’ kick the left is on just may end up being a bridge too far for the racial guilt racket.
Very well said.
Trouble is.....there’s no telling how far it will go. So far we have seen no upper bound on just how absurd they can get, indeed, there seems to be an absurdity competition, like a psychotic costume party.
Al Queda is our enemy? Great! Fund them!
We have a problem with illegals? Great! Let more in!
Racism is a big issue? Terrific! Fan the flames of racial hatred until they explode.
Yes but she probably got tenure and promotions to full professor and “opened up a entire new field of study.”
And look we are even discussing her and her “theories” on FR!
I struggled HARD from a lower-class upbringing, through addiction, to get where I am.
My 'white privilege' didn't show up.
So, she sure changed my life. I now react almost violently at any mention of my 'privilege' or my 'racism'.
That lib would be spitting out teeth for about 5 minutes.
Can’t punch your mother in law...
well, present company may be excluded from the above axiom...
