If you plan to attend Harvards Kennedy School of Government, better get oriented for your orientation; you may be privileged.
But dont worry; theres always room for spiritual growth. The school is adding a class titled Checking Your Privilege 101 because of pressure from student activists, and that class will be part of your orientation!
Lucky you! Reetu Mody, a first-year masters student in public policy and a campus activist, exclaimed, Were at one of the most powerful institutions in the world, yet we never critically examine power and privilege and what it means to have access to this power. Were excited to have the administration on board for training all Harvard Kennedy School first years.

It’s not “white privilege”,
it’s just that my cultural background more often leads to success than your cultural background.
“Scuse me, professor - but can you explain if there’s such advantages to being ‘white’ that the overwhelming majority of those of mixed race always choose to identify as a minority when they are applying for grants, gov’t jobs, etc?”
“Its not white privilege, its just me being better than you.”
People are confusing privilege with successful, and therefore advantageous, cultural values.
My success has more to do with the Protestant work ethic than any “privilege” I have being mostly white. I was willing to study and work hard, defer gratification, and be generally law-abiding. I didn’t bitch about my lousy jobs and bosses. I just worked hard until I could change my situation. I didn’t cheat or try to take advantage of others, and I didn’t seek revenge on those that tried to do that to me.
I did have advantages that many others didn’t. While my second-generation parents were lower middle class, they instilled a love of learning and a tolerance for hard work and others who were obnoxiously different. I don’t think any of that can be construed as any kind of “privilege”.
Sometimes you just have to ignore noisy birds instead of getting out the
shotgun, but when everything starts getting covered in bird crap, you’ve got to take action. Don’t confuse being tolerant with being a patsy.
Friend of mine got into college by saying he was black on an application. and this was 40 years ago.
40.
What "privilege" gives them the right to tell someone else what to check?
liberivige I think.
The entitled privileged slackers on the move.
You mean, "commie core".
“There is a certain irony that Checking Your Privilege 101 is at the Kennedy School of Government———”
-
Good catch, but these kids are too out of touch to see the comedy in this.
.
I wish Barry had checked his executive privilege at the door.
Just anpther way to say “Shut the f*ck up, white boy”
Yet another reason to avoid Harvard (I was leery about it before, then the black mass) and go somewhere else when I get back to school.
Apparently you don’t actually have to go there to say you did when you become the POTUS. Did he or didn’t he? :>}
"A campus activist" must be like a "political commissar", or zampolit.
I guess they don't give them enough to do to keep the little political commissars busy with schoolwork...
There’s something perversely funny about that.
Kind of a contradictory thing for those poor disadvantaged folks being forced to attend Havahodd.
Libtards need to start checkin’ their own privilege.
