With anti-government sentiments roiling in the aftermath of Cliven Bundys Nevada standoff, government workers in western Utah are stripping BLM logos from their vehicles after two motorists brandished a gun and displayed a threatening sign at a federal wrangler who was driving Tuesday in Juab County.
The wrangler was driving a load of horses and burros north on Interstate 15 about 11 a.m. near Mills when a dark blue Dodge 1500 extended-cab pickup pulled up alongside the wrangler. The two occupants "told him he was No. 1 with that certain gesture," said Eric Reid, the wranglers supervisor at the U.S. Bureau of Land Managements Fillmore Field Office.
The pickup fell back and the wrangler continued north. A few minutes later, the pickup reappeared, Reid said. The men, wearing hoods, held up a sign, apparently scrawled on a piece of paper, that read, "You need to die." One of the men pointed what appeared to be a Glock handgun at the wrangler.
The wrangler tried to make out a license plate number, but the plate had been covered with duct tape, Reid said.

Great. Now we’re going to need to register purchases of duct tape.
government “worker”? lol. 80% of government employees are there to collect a free paycheck, while about 20% actually do work. What are the odds this guy is in the 20%?
It’s all about employee safetly, I agree, stash them all in the basement of the whitehouse.
LOL
The BLM are now hallucinating. Psychotic breakdown from all the stress.
Yeah...how convenient. These anti-government types apparently thought ahead enough to obscure their license plate, but not to make up a decent sign? Right. Or maybe the whole thing is made up...
Bushy-headed motorists?
BLM wrangler?? Where did he steal the horses and burros from?? Where was he taking them?
Exactly. It would appear that the BLM is employing US mercenaries to bounce from spot to spot as they please.
I'll have to do some reading to remind myself of how that turned out.
“Desert of Tonkin”, anyone?
This story is convenient and concocted BS. They discuss and nail down up front potential loose ends that might come up as questions, such as why if they weren’t stalking them were the license plates covered. Or how they pulled back, then pulled up with written sign, because everyone just carries around paper and marker in their vehicle just in case they run into the BLM.
They do this to give the story plausibility, but no one who tells the truth actually tells a story like that. It is classic govt-style manufactured cover. They just wanted to ability to go unmarked.
“Wranglers” are the new rustlers. What used to be a hanging offense now earns bonuses for the criminals.
Did you read the part about duct tape on the plates?
Real or not, I like the fact that gov't workers are starting to fear the public. Maybe it'll make them think twice about some of their heavy-handed crap.
No doubt taking the poor things to a slaughterhouse. They should have carjacked him and taken them to rescue.
We have Federal Wranglers?
Sort of like covering your license plate with duct tape, isn't it?
License plate covered with duct tape? Not even necessary to find the perps. You know the make and model. The area is not to populated and quite possibly the local LEO’s know who owns the truck. If not gather all owner info on that particular truck and cross check the owner database with cell phone numbers. Then just simply cross check that info with cell tower records and Viola! you have a very narrow list of suspects. But all that could only happen if the event had actually happened.
