Her nephew - who called the police - said she was enraged because she failed the driving test at the DMV. When she got home, she took out her gun and began threating to kill him (the nephew) and he called the police.
He says she fired two shots at the cops before they fired at her.
So let’s get a grip and wait for the investigation to be over. A 93 year old can kill you as much as anybody else can. We had an incident here where a crazy old lady in her 90s blew away the grand-nephew who was caring for her, a wonderful man who had a great family and worked for the local college. She was just nuts and got annoyed about something. He called the police but it was too late and he was dead when they got there.
Just because she was old didn’t mean she couldn’t have killed the nephew, the cops or anybody she fired on.
I understand what youre saying and there was a time I had faith in an investigation but the police are doing the investigation and I wouldn’t trust them as far as I could throw them all.
The guy fired 5 rounds with 3 hits. I believe this guy may have been in the right. I also believe he’s a typical trigger happy cop who should not be on the police force.
yeah, this isn’t a cut and dried cop was wrong situation like so many others we read about. the 93 year old isn’t a small child wth a gun either. i only wish that cops would sometimes try a non-lethal shot - since they are “experts” - as opposed to always shooting center of mass. in this case it may not have been possible.
I absolutely loathe excessive use of force by LEO’s, but if your recounting of events is accurate, this was justifiable.
Sounds like the crazy old bitch had it coming. Bet she won’t be firing at the police anymore. And the cop will take the city to the cleaners. Can’t fault him.
