HEARNE, Texas (AP) Officials in a small Central Texas town voted Saturday to fire a police officer who shot and killed an armed 93-year-old woman during a confrontation at her home.
The city council's unanimous vote to dismiss Officer Stephen Stem came after a meeting that lasted less than 30 minutes, KBTX-TV reported.

Excuse my last comment. I read the article incorrectly. The officer never made such a threat, from what I could gather from rereading the article,
Yeah, an aspiring rapper that actually may have turned his life around. Though I doubt if he’s changed morals wise.

There ain’t no body armor on your face; if some crazy person starts shooting at me, I will drop them regardless of age.
BTW, Congrats on getting your CCW in Illinois.
I beg to differ.
Sounds like the crazy old bitch had it coming. Bet she won’t be firing at the police anymore. And the cop will take the city to the cleaners. Can’t fault him.
Absolutely.
The big bad cop should have turned tail and RAN to the car. To hide.
Yeah. Because the big bad 94-year-old lady shooting into the ground a few times was such a THREAT!! To the cop’s candy-ass ego, that is.
Besides - you may actually be serious and not sarcastic. Which is entirely possible considering the type of website FR is known for.
It would be impossible for you to meet your daily limit of stupid remarks, R2d.
If he ends up owning the town, he’ll have more headaches than riches.
Google Hearne.
The local Walmart had to close because of shoplifting and employee pilfering.
You’ll read about Hearne’s superb “recognized” school system — that’s because a few years ago student performance was so low that Hearne schools were taken over by the state, only system in Texas with that dubious distinction. I hear the empty WalMart now houses the high school.
Hearne is not a place you want to visit. I can’t imagine being a cop there.
OK: Ya got me there. But will it stop a 45 long Colt.
