In a closed-door meeting of wealthy contributors in Las Vegas, House Speaker John Boehner said he was hell-bent on getting [anti-gun immigration amnesty] done this year.
And earlier this week, the Speaker viciously mocked conservative Republicans for opposing him on this issue.
The wily Boehner had led his conservative Republican members to believe the issue was shelved for the year. Now it appears that Boehner is simply planting a trap for Republicans and gun owners -- springing this Obama-backed proposal when its too late to primary anti-gun Republican amnesty supporters.

Boehner = Obama’s butt boy. The biggest POS in the Republican Party.
Hey, hey,
Ho, ho!!
Rino Boehner’s got to go!!
I call bs
Looking around the net for the split quotation, I don’t see anything on Boehner about gun control, yet—only immigration reform.
Think lame duck congress.
I truly believe that the issue of citizen gun ownership will eventually come to large scale (or numerous small scale) violent confrontations with the militarized agents of the government. What we used to think of as Protect & Serve Law Enforcement.
What do y’all know about the ‘Latest Title: Comprehensive Veterans Health and Benefits and Military Retirement Pay Restoration Act of 2014 ‘ by Sanders.
Occupy Democrats are using it as a meme to bash Republicans
Boner has been a tremendous disappointment ( perhaps especially to those of us who rather liked him and thought he’d do his job). Hopefully he will be replaced by someone better ASAP
From the article:
Gun Owners of America has argued all along that Second Amendment supporters have a dog in this fight.
In 1986, Ronald Reagan signed an immigration amnesty bill for about 3 million illegals. It was supposed to be accompanied by new enforcement measures — which never happened. Instead, the prospect of citizenship only attracted over ten million new illegals. And those granted amnesty in 1986 turned California from a swing state into an anti-gun nightmare.
A Pew poll from last year indicated that if illegal immigrants were given citizenship, they would vote for liberal, anti-gun candidates by an 8-to-1 margin.
Nothing about gun control here.

Where’s the exact quote of Boehner on gun control without editorial paraphrasing brackets?
Oh, thanks!
How unlike a Republican.
so I have always believed that there are people who have for decades wanted to slowly but inexorably disarm white, Christian, America. and they still are. but, the hysteria of gun control we have seen in the last few years tells me the rulers know the crap is about to hit the fan and this will be one way to reduce the carnage.
90%, if not more, of the local cops will happily assist the feds when it comes time to take the guns. If nothing else, the feds will need them to shoot the dogs.
Great point Jim. One does not need to state the obvious when the very legislation they do support ends up doing the very thing said candidate may deny he wants to do.
It’s like supporting any Democrat for an office in Congress. By doing so you admit that you support every liberal idea the Democrat party supports. Since when has a democrat not voted to support the Liberal Speaker of the House or Liberal senate majority Leader who controls what is voted for.

True. There have been increases in Republicans moving to the left for a long time.

Besides, if it gets to that point, more wholesale weapons will come into play on the side of freedom.
