Democrats are thinking about using Internet balloting in 2016 to expand their voter base and select a president -- prompting Republicans to consider such a strategy to keep from losing ground.
Iowa Democrats proposed the idea and several others during a recent Democratic National Committee meeting, saying Internet balloting could expand access to their unique caucus process to overseas military personnel, absentee voters and others.

I think its a very bad idea, says the Heritage Foundations Hans von Spakovsky, who thinks computer-based voting will never happen, or at least not in the foreseeable future.

We lie. We say we voted democrat. May I have you also? Will be down to nine to do the right thing.
The only computer voting I want to see is the Congress voting from their home
districts and never receiving another taxpayer dime to travel to Washington.

Actually that isn’t all that far fetched in today’s enviornment with technology
now available. They can do most things necessary just like they do in DC with
hook ups and screens but located within their district where people can go
down and see/watch them. Of course they wouldn’t want their constituents being
too close and offering comments, etc..
It makes sense. Would stop most of the cost.

They want voting to be the least secure possible
Are they suggesting we use the American Idol method of voting? Just text your vote a couple of hundred times an hour.
Operation chaos. How are they going to stop hacking and fake IP addresses?
they cant afford an id, but they have a computer with wifi.
The Left has wanted this since the 1970s. And not just on “election day” but also for the passing of all bills (”true democracy”).
This tactic was used in some online polls some time ago. When it was too difficult to turn the tide to anything better than 65% for Bush, turn around and answer the poll the same as the Dems as often as the Dems and let it go to 99.9% against Bush on this or that. The media knew that they couldn't run those number. The con was up.
Me too. I want one day voting - Saturdays. Polls close at 7 pm eastern, 6 pm central, 5pm mountain, etc - no extensions. Either you get there or you don’t. Ballots all in English. Yep, raise the voting age. Raise it to 25. Childhood last longer these days.
That would be a convenient selection Box to click on in an on-line ballot....
I don’t think that anyone would consider the results from that type of election legitimate. Which is why the dems want this. They figure to get waxed in 2016.
If the blacks and Hispanics cannot afford a ID card, how in the world are they going to get a computer, or such device they would have to be computer literate to vote, and log in some way to say who they supposedly are...
Vote fraud made so easy anyone can do it. Just hit reload and vote again.
That’s because the internet is completely hack proof, and you cannot falsify your identity.
Look, Democrats, stop playing around. Just be public: “We wish to revoke the right of anyone to vote any more. We will appoint leaders from now on, only from the Democrat party, and only if they profess their love for communism and fascism.”
I’d have more respect for you all if you just got honest.
If this happens and anyone still believes their vote counts....
Sure. Al Gore gave the overseas military vote special attention in 2000.
Besides, illegal immigrants are getting harder to find as the dollar drops and the economy swirls around to get ready for the big flush. So they need a new method for “getting out the vote”.
Do poor people have access to the Internet? Somehow, that’s not a concern all of a sudden.
