The hottest competition in Washington this week is among House Republicans vying for a seat on the Benghazi kangaroo court, also known as the Select House Committee to Inflate a Tragedy Into a Scandal. Half the House has asked to serve on the committee, which is understandable since its the perfect opportunity to avoid any real work while waving frantically to right-wing voters stomping their feet in the grandstand.
They wont pass a serious jobs bill, or raise the minimum wage, or reform immigration, but House Republicans think they can earn their pay for the rest of the year by exposing nonexistent malfeasance on the part of the Obama administration. On Thursday, they voted to create a committee to spend such sums as may be necessary to conduct an investigation of the 2012 attack on the consulate in Benghazi, Libya. The day before, they voted to hold in contempt Lois Lerner, the former Internal Revenue Service official whom they would love to blame for the administrations crackdown on conservative groups, if only they could prove there was a crackdown, which they cant, because there wasnt.
Both actions stem from the same impulse: a need to rouse the most fervent anti-Obama wing of the party and keep it angry enough to deliver its donations and votes to Republicans in the November elections. For a while it seemed as if the Affordable Care Act would perform that role, but Republicans ran into a problem when the country began to realize that it was not destroying American civilization but in fact helping millions of people....

FUNYT. Your hag Hillary is in trouble.
If anybody knows about circuses it’s the clowns on the editorial board at the New Yawk Slimes. On the other hand, I really enjoy watching the commies squirm as we Americans close in on their boy.
The New Yawk Slimes, holding true to its slimy tradition.
A cover-up 2 months before the 2012 Presidential election is nothing? Don’t you libs at the Old Grey Dinosaur try to make hay out of Watergate every four years?
“Benghazi kangaroo court”! LOL! Is that the best Barry’s Kids at the Slimes can do? They’re never going to make good communists.
Isn’t this the same NYT that ran 90 Front Page stories in 70 days on Abu Garaib, where nobody died from having panties on their heads ?
Once again, the New York Times validates my beloved Tagline.
I think that this one is the most blatant piece of propaganda written since Dr. Goebbels “retired”.
Also, considering what the Time will not touch, I could alternate with “NY TIMES: We print the news IF it fits our views.” Either one works pretty good.
Declaration of war from the Slimes:
Benghazi kangaroo court, avoid work, waving frantically,right-wing, stomping their feet, grandstand, malfeasance, contempt, impulse, rouse, fervent anti-Obama, angry, destroying American civilization...
I quit. I just ate. But this one is loaded.
Oh lord and this is the conservative paper in New York. I don’t even want to read the New York Slime.
Oops....it is the New York Times. Sadly I read this tripe. I am glad it is not the Post though.
Holy Shi! Now I’ve read partisan editorials before and typically they try to throw in a slant to the other side to pretend they are not too left. However with this one they make no bones about it. The editorial board is proudly donning the kneepads mouth wide open and accepting of the “one’s” gift.
Maybe this piece was actually written in the WH.
We are in scary times my friend. 1980s Soviet controlled media
You mean, Keystone?
They are just regurgitating WH talking points, along with progressive bloggers, etc. The lunatics really ARE running the asylum!
Yes, we are.
This editorial is nothing but a temper tantrum.
I remember a time, not too long ago, when the New York Times presented its views with mature dignity, attempting to veneer its Left wing bias with skilled sophistry. Now we are treated to childish screeds worthy of MSNBC.
So. The Left is LAUGHING at the idea of justice for the dead.
The Butcher of Bebnghazi is glad. So is 0bama.
