House Speaker John A. Boehner's selection of seven Republicans on a select committee to investigate the Benghazi attacks that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other diplomatic staff members in September 2012 reveals a mix of male and female lawmakers who bring a variety of experience and political power to the table.
The committee, which is being led by Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., includes Republican Reps. Susan Brooks, Indiana; Jim Jordan, Ohio; Mike Pompeo, Kansas; Martha Roby, Alabama; Peter Roskam, Illinois; and Lynn Westmoreland, Georgia, reports The Washington Post.
Boehner announced the committee earlier on Friday, including a message on Twitter inviting Americans to "meet your majority members."

Maybe he’s finally serious for once.
Remember the committee that looked into the Bubba’s lies to Ken Starr? Where are those folks now?
Gowdy and Brooks are pro-amnesty. Roskam will lose to a Democrat if he touches amnesty.
The Democrats will probably complain about diversity. I guess Raul Labrador is the only minority lawyer they could have considered.
Smokescreen for amnesty.
The Dems are going to whine, delay, bloviate, etc.
I fully expect them to WALK OUT one the first day, and call it not legitimate, as this is already the “suggested” meme being laid out on Daily Kos.
Expect the mainstream media to play right along with it, too.
No one wants to be looking for a new media job in the Obama Economy.
If he was serious he would have appointed eleven republicans and one democrat just to make it bipartisan, That’s what Tip O’Neill Did.
Very white looking committee.....
Of course competence is more important than symbolism to pubbies....
That concept is lost on dims....
First word out their filthy mouths will be to play the race card...
“Remember the committee that looked into the Bubbas lies to Ken Starr? Where are those folks now?”
Hyde is dead. Coble is finally retiring. Goodlatte’s pushing Amnesty and securing the Voting Rights Act, and Lindsey Graham is, well, you know!
The writers should always include the number of people that were left to die by obama and clinton.
Include those killed and wounded.
Boehner should have put Louie Gohmert on the select committee.
Gohmert is a former judge and the 0bama administration hates him. He would be perfect.
Let's save Louie to chair the select committee on the IRS.
RE the
All white” charge to come. Answer with...
“We selected this Committee based on the content of their character and not the color of their skin. To do otherwise would stoke the fires of racism that MLK fought so hard to overcome. We expect the Democrats to do no less.”
THE CONTROLABLES
“Boehner should have put Louie Gohmert on the select committee.
Gohmert is a former judge and the 0bama administration hates him. He would be perfect.”
*******************************************************************
Well, maybe Boehner doesn’t like him either. The only thing better than Gohmert would have been some folks with former military intelligence and/or police interrogator experience.
If there are dems on the committee, they will waste time by giving speeches everytime they open their mouths. Hopefully the evidence presented will force them to take the cover-up seriously. I think they are quaking in their boots over this committee.
Gowdy pretty much HAS to lay ground rules because he has to know what’s coming. Just tell them from the outset on camera. Cause a disruption or go off subject and you will be replaced by a Republican. Period.
His Committee, He gets to make the rules. And he BETTER.
